Poll: Who are your favorite Touhou characters?

I'm a big fan of the Touhou games, including the fighters. (if you don't know what it is, search it on Youtube) After playing so many Touhou games I've devolped some favorite characters.

They are:
-Yuyuko Saigyouji (Butterlies of DEATH and ANGUISH)
-Flandre Scarlet (Insane loli vampire)
-Suika Ibuki (Constantly inebreiated loli demon)
-Youmu Konpaku (Half-Ghost... wait, what?)
-Sakuya Izayoi (Dio Brando + Maid)

But really, I like all of the touhou characters (except Wriggle).

Touhou is a series of Shoot 'em up (Shmup) games based around dodging bullets. A term for this type of game is 'Bullet Hell'.

Basically all of the games' bosses will fill the screen with bullets and you have to navigate your way through them without getting hit. Your only advantage is your tiny hitbox. A special quirk of the Touhou series is the fact that every character (save one) is a girl.

Well three. Genji, Rinnosuke, and now Unzan (a.k.a. Brofist, or as I like to call him, ANGRY Cloud Man).

As for the topic at hand, I'd have to say Komachi, not because I am jealous of her voluptuous-ness, but because I like her personality. A lazy, laid back, scythe-weilding Psychopomp, who just wants to relax and be lazy, while getting a lecture from her boss, Shikieiki, whenever she gets caught. Next to her, Sakuya, b/c I LOVE Time Manipulation, and all the ZA WARUDO jokes, Youmu b/c she's FREAKING FAST, and Myon's adorable, and Aya b/c she's is SO TOTALLY Zun, and you know it, and b/c she's just cool to me.

Zun and Suika share only one thing in common, they both drink a lot. The same can be said about Yuugi then. Although Aya makes more sense. That's why Aya has the most theme songs, is the only girl OTHER than RAYMOO and MANrisa to have her OWN game, has had so much effort put into her character, even if she's appeared in 3 games, and even looks LIKE ZUN. *says the girl who is starting to make her own Komachi cosplay, here's the scythe to prove I've started...*

I'm not sure what's more surprising: that this thread came back, or that I'm apparently the only one who voted for Marissa. I wonder if that means anything.

...guess I'll have to play the games to find out. I'm not usually one for scrolling shooters, but from what I understand, the huge thing about Touhou is all the doujinshi based off of it. I wonder where I can find them...

Personally, I love bullet hell games, even though I'm not very good. Problem is, I haven't the foggiest idea where to find the Touhou games...

Enjoy! Just to warn you, some of the later ones (Touhous 10, 10.5 and 11 to be exact) require you to download a dll file. Just google and download the dll file if you don't have it and put it into your System folder and you'll be set. If you want english patches for the games go to:

They've got all the latest english patches for the Touhou games out. Still waiting for SWR's patch. Oh well, I'll be taking Japanese next semester, hopefully that'll help...

I'd it's more surprising that the thread came back.

Considering the fact that apparently nobody on the escapist knows what tou hou is.

Also considering that the first time I happen to log on the escapist in a month I see one of my old threads on the front page.
