For me, it was my own father. i still remember the first game i was hooked to. Legend of Zelda was my first game, although the logic of the game was a bit hard to understand. then again, ANY game's logic is a bit hard for a 7 year old (except racing games). At times I actually wonder if my Dad ever regrets getting me started on games... but what has been learned can not be unlearned.

Note: i wanted to make a topic that was SLIGHTLY related to fathers day, and if it's not for you, just tell us what he thinks.

My cousin Tommy had a SNES. Needless to say, I got hooked.

PS-Stunt Race FX and Street Fighter II Turbo were the culprits.

My father bought a NES with a few games (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, Bomberman) and I would always watch him and my mom play games. I didn't really start playing up until he bought a Sega Genesis.

My brother, he came home one day with a NES and it's been a parasite living deep in my colon ever since.

My parents got me a Playstation.

I never looked back from then on.

I want to collect all consoles, but I already don't play my 360, PS2 and DS nearly enough.

When my bro first got a PS1 is when I started playing games because even though it was my brother PS1, he let me play all the Final Fantasy games (and on rare occasion Resident Evil when it was actually scary) and thats how I got started on gaming through my brother

Back when I was about six, I made a friend who had an NES. Every day after school, we'd go to his house and try to play Mario for a few hours (emphasis on "try" due to general ineptitude and multiple hardware failures.) I think of that as my turning point from "growing up" to "growing into a gamer."

My grandad - who is, dare I say it, a bigger gamer than I am... Even now..!
I remember when I was 5 years old, going to visit my nan and grandad and playing hour upon hour of Sonic the Hedgehog on their Sega Megadrive.

Like so many others, my brother got me into gaming with classics such as Wolfenstein 3D and Simon the Sorcerer 2

My friend who I've known since I was three (namely because his parents, unlike mine, could afford a games console back then).

The console in question was the Sega Megadrive (that's the Genesis if you're American/Canadian).
