Pretty self-explanatory this one. Neither of these publishers has been getting much love from the gaming community lately and I just wanted to gauge who was taking the most flack.

I would personally say that Activision is more evil. While I have very little in the way of sympathy for EA I just can't bring myself to hate them as much because they publish some of my favorite games. EA also doesn't really have a figurehead to focuss all the hate at in quite the same way that Activision has with Bob Kotick.

EA destroyed Bioware, Activision only crippled Blizzard. EA is the greater evil.

You should rephrase the question to: Which company do you hate more, EA or Activision?

Calling them evil is a bit too much.

EA used to be the big bad in 2008. The role switched to Activision when they decided to cancel games "because they were not sequel-worthy". Bobby Kotick decided to open his mouth and gave the company negative reactions.

I'd say to watch out for Ubisoft since they're aiming for the top. (I'll find that headline somewhere. While you're waiting, please take this statement with a pinch of salt).

EA doesn't seem to be as EVIL as they used to be. At least they have a half-way decent DLC policy.

Stop it.

There are no "evil" corporations.

There are just corporations. EA and Activision both do what's good for business, because, you know, THEY'RE BUSINESSES. If they did exactly what the fans wanted they would be run into the ground and dirt poor. I know people get that feeling of self-importance when they complain about the "evil corporations", but it's no better than conspiracy theories. So grow up.

...On a more related note, Activision.

Well seeing as how Activision tried to block the release of Tim Schafer's Brutal Legend and EA was responsible for it even seeing the light of day. I'm going to go with Activision. That whole incident was what made me jump on the whole hurr Activision is the evil bandwagon.

Activision fostered Call of Duty, the biggest e-peen game in history, which served only the purpose of allowing little kids to scream at each other while bunnyhopping and quickscoping.

EA fostered Battlefield, same e-peen fest as call of duty, only with vehicles that most people forgot because now nobody uses anything but jets.

However: I did enjoy playing on a heavily modified server of Battlefield 2, when the guns were real, the damage was understandable, and jets could be shot down by an infantry anti-air rocket.

Overall, Activision is the most evil...they have WoW and CoD in their arse-nal.

EA...mostly because of their full-priced roster updates on all those sports franchises they monopolize.

Neither.

It's not "evil". It's business. Now if the question was which I dislike more, then it'd be EA.

Activision. If any company is going to kill the industry, it's them. Their constant push towards frequent insignificant sequels and attempts at milking the consumer at any opportunity are not sustainable traits for the industry and will cripple it if they go unchecked. That they're still pushing FURTHER into this territory is a sign that they don't care about the industry, just the money they can get out of it and how fast they can get access to it.

EA similarly milks consumers with removed content and pointless DLC and has a fairly major disregard for the industry compared to the concern for marketing, but EA at least is stable and not trying to outdo themselves in these aspects. Hell, they seem fairly quiet now, and what little information comes from them sounds more like a quest for a compromise than for greed.

So my answer is Activision. It would have been EA a few years ago, but Activision took over when EA started to back off, and they seem to have no intention of stopping unless the industry crumbles beneath them.
