i've recently picked up some interest in a slightly old title that i unfortunately have never played: Shadow of the Colossus.

sicne i have a PS3 i'll probably be getting the game pretty soon, but it got me wandering - how many people would want to see it with a high-def glean to it?

so i decided to make a post. we already know that Team Ico are working on their next title for the PS3, and it'll probablly be something completely different (not that thats a bad thing of course). Would people like to see a remake of one of their previous classics? or would you rather see something completely new?

Never even played the game, but I seriously need to.

Remaking a game from the previous generation probably wouldn't be that popular, I mean it wasn't too long ago the thing was released. What was it, 2006 for the rest of the world?

I vote no. New IP should be good.

Well Shadow of the collossus looks fantastic for a PS2 game, and the atmosphere is so amazing it makes up for the relative lack of graphical power in comparison to current games.
I don't think a remake would be a good idea, though if it were brought to the 360 aswell as the PS3 it would give many the chance to experience one of the finest game of the last generation.

IP is a brand new title, not a remake or a sequel. (strangely enough i don't actually know what it stands for, just what it means)

Remakes are acceptable under one condition, actually forget that, re-releases are acceptable under one condition an that is that the game is so old it can't be bought anymore. But considering you can still walk into any gamestop and pick up a copy of that game for like 10 or 20 quid there is absolutely no good reason.
well, there may be some reason... as some have stated here, if it were released on the 360 as well as the PS3, it may give more people a chance to experience the game. maybe they could also port it to Wii?

Thanks for the explanation.
intelectual property i think
...but, wait, "intelectual property" doesn't have any relevence with "a new game" as far as i can tell...

"Intellectual Property" basically means a copyright for an idea. So an IP isn't necessarily a game, but anything relating to a certain franchise or brand. For instance, even though Halo Wars was a brand new game with new gameplay, it wasn't a new IP because it was based on the other Halo games.

As for a remake, I'd sure like one, as I really wanted to play that game but never got around to it. The demo was epic.

Yeah, as long as it came to the 360. I want this game....NOW!
Hate to burst your bubble, but Team ICO is owned by Sony. It 'ain't coming to 360 or any other platform besides a Sony platform for that matter.

And I want a new IP from them....NOW!

It's not even that old. How could you remake it?

However due to me not owning a PS2 I never got a chance to play this game. If it came on to a console I own I would buy it in a heartbeat.
