I've heard many critics of the Escapist say that people only ever pay attention to them because of good old Zero Punctuation. I've tried to defend this theory against people I've met, but have frequently run out of any arguments against them. So folks, please back me up here - why are we all here at the Escapist?

I initially joined for Yahtzee but if you look at my near Gonzo post count you'll notice that I've grown to love the forums.

Zero Punctuation. I have tried to like the rest of the videos etc, but I am afraid they are terrible.

Some of the editorials are quite good though and the boards are pretty good.

ZP. The forums provide an interesting and sometimes thought-provoking diversion.

The Forums. I actually came because of some reviewer-needed thing, and never posted again. Then I heard about the Escapist somewhere, and something clicked in my brain.

I came back, then found out about the forums, then found out about ZP. I stay for the forums, though.

Admittedly I only came onto this website originally to shut my cousin up about Zero Punctuation but after watching most of his videos I began to explore the site more and eventually discovered Unforgotten Realms which after watching each episode alot led me to stumble upon the forums (these being the first forums I have visited more then once)

The Forum is the biggest lure for me at this point. Originally it was ZP.
ZP at this point is just entertainment and in my opinion merits no actual useful information on the games he reviews.

No not to meet girls, just to view them.

Again sorry if I offend anyone.

Zero Punctuation lured me to the sight but I stayed for the Forums. By far one of the smarter internet communities I've ever participated in.

I came for Yahtzee after seeing a trailer of his Sim Cities Societies review on X-Plays's GDC 08 coverage and checked it out. I loved it, signed on for the paper from the site, started a profile names "War Monger of Yabucua", got banned for 7 days by calling this Korean WOW fanboy a Jap because he did'nt like COH/COV (and some other things, but I may get banned again), started a new file named Monarch of Greenwich, and I've started two threads that havent been locked down and that people seem to enjoy.

Edit: Once the 7 days were upm, I insulted him again and got permananly banned by the way.

Edit 2: I also stayed for the intellegence of the users of the site and because of how international it is. Much better than the G4TV.COM and Gamespot.com forums by 3 light years (where everyones a stereotypical naive American troller. I just insulted part of my self lol).

I got here from a link on a webcomic, talking about the ZP video on webcomics, then proceeded to watch every ZP...but I stayed overall for a little bit of everything this place has to offer
