I have owned this game for one day and I think it's great. The story isn't that intriguing so far (3 or 4 levels in) but its is fun and the online is great, especially when you have a full squad of friends. Graphics are good (its not killzone 2 or crysis but they are good) and the controls are realistic yet smooth if that makes sense.

So why do all these people say its crap? mainly folled immiediatly by "MW2 destroys it"?

It's a shitty port, a good game but still a shitty PC port. It's miles ahead of MW2 in every area of interest and my computer is powerful enough to hack shitty ports, so I've got mine ordered (being in Australia means that my choices are pay an extra $40 or import it from the U.S). In the meantime, I've illegally "pirated" my friends copy, hopefully mine will arrive in the next few days so I can check the online out.

People say it's crap because they instantly think of a modern warfare clone, they never review a game like BFBC2 of Saints Row 2 without comparing it to something remotely similar that has been released earlier regardless of development times

I am not a PC gamer, but hasn't this been happening alot recently with PC and console games? developers making bad PC ports?

I'm interested in BF:BC2, probably a PS3 game for when I get one (eeeh... Curse you for not replying to my Email!) now I've heard it's a port though. Developers shouldn't port, I've never played a good one. Though on the other hand, BF BC2 looks like some pretty restrictive gameplay(class wise) which could help the issues with MW2, and people being able to make what ever the hell they like as a class. And the open battlefield idea intrigues me, I'd probably force a friend to buy it with me though. An entire open battlefield searching it on your own would be a tad lame. It's my major disslike for Modern Warfare 2 (and the original to be honest). The maps are just maps, not actually a battlefield.

I haven't played MW2 online, but I hated its single player. Though in all fairness it was the Rio de Janeiro map which I hear is the worst map ever made, so perhaps my viewpoint is a bit skewed. BC2s isn't much better on that front but I'm at least loving the online play, which is something of a suprise since last time I played a shooter online (and liked it) was Medal of Honor: Spearhead. Like 7 years ago.

I just wish it had fighter and bomber jets though. That'd be fun.

I was just disappointed by the story in comparison to the first one. I mean, BF:BC1 had my favorite storyline in any FPS, and BC2 came along with a 4 hour storyline that was frankly bad. It's missing all the cool surreal stuff that made BFBC stand out, like an opportunity to ride a golf cart into combat, and the characters are no longer likable or funny. It seems like they tried to make it into Modern Warfare, rather than sticking true to the Bad Company spirit.

I didn't play the multiplayer, so I can't judge based on that.

BF:BC2 is far superior to MW2. The multiplayer plays alot smoother and the game types actually feel like you have an objective, unlike MW2 which feels like a deathmatch. The playstyle is much like BF2 which is great.

It has. Basically it's because the xbox 360 is very much like a PC, and an xbox 360 game will run (albeit badly) on a PC with minimum tuning. It's an easy way to make some extra money with very development little cost, so a lot of companies are doing it. Those few that bother porting games well tend to shoot themselves in the foot (see ubisoft and their AC2 DRM). It's a rather annoying trend, hopefully the next generation of consoles will be different enough from the PC so that this doesn't happen.

So you've never played the game, and read ONE review on the game and so your "opinon" is that the game is shit? That is absolutely retarded.

Anyway, as far as the game goes, its a worth adversary, I'll keep both installed on my computer. It's dependent on your mood imo. MW2 for smaller scale battles, and easier combat.

BC2 takes a bit more skill and is much larger scale, and is MUCH better balanced, I don't get frustrated nearly as much. Also EA Online is still bad and buggy, I can't even connect right now, and this still happens occasionally.

Its not retarded, its just being really lazy since i never actually planned on getting this game... ever.

I dont see the point on changing my views if im not going to buy it

you think it's shit because somebody else said it was? That's like saying killing people for no reason is right because he said it is.

OT: I F'ing love BFBC2 campaign and online is thoroughly enjoyable. Also didn't even know there was a boycott against it.

Not really...

Theres quite a difference between not getting a game of someones advice (I never planned on it anyways) and killing someone cause they wanted you too...

And why shouldnt i belivce him, ive read his other things we seem to think the same way, it just seems like the reaction i would have.

I don't understand why people can't like one game if they like another from the same genre... Talk about being closed minded.

A Game that whas advertised as a Mw2 killer, rips Mw2 off at every second step, and in any perspective fails to be as good as Mw2, must expect to be compared to mw2. It's as simple as that. They left everything that made the first Bf:Bc worthwile (like their humour) behind, and instead tried to copy Mw2 (at least stroywise). They failed to grasp what makes Cod-Stories worthwile, and now pay the price for not making their game properly.
