Poll: Why doesn't Escapist have a mobile app?

I don't think they should. I occasionally use the site on my phone, through iPhone's Safari and it works fine as it is.

Because they're too afraid of the amount of success or money this idea can spawn.

Trying to run the forums on my iPod Touch takes minutes to load the pages, due to the massive amount of flashy things they have to include.

My phone automatically resizes text to fit the screen when I double tap, so the site itself isn't a problem for me. On the other hand, the videos obviously aren't optimized for mobile, so I can't really watch them on the go.

Agreed. Release an iOS, Android and BlackBerry app. I'd love to get my forum action on at the click of an App on my phone.

I don't see why they can't? A Droid / iOS app would be useful. I'd use it.

Rather than make an app to cater to the phones, why not just wait until that whole industry gets its act together.

It shouldn't take an app to browse a website. Any device that needs to in my opinion would be sub-par.
