In my recent internet surfing, I came across the cost that Microsoft will be charging for their latest and greatest operating system. Microsoft Home Premium: £149.99.

Just found a pretty awesome deal for Windows 7 some of you may like.

But recently, I also found that Apple will be charging £25 for their latest iteration of Mac OSX. Sadly though I will not be taking advantage of this low price as my Mac is no longer supported. It's there for funsies.

To me, Microsoft seem a little out of touch when it comes to their pricing these days, but I will be upgrading to Windows 7 as I hold the RC version close to my heart like a long lost child.

So I ask you, PC and Mac users, what will you be upgrading to from your Operating System providers? If at all.

I will be sticking with Vista for now will probally upgrade to 7 if and when i think it is ok to do so.
I have tryed the beta and first impressions were bad...i could not use wired internet
But none the less, Vista is ok not great but it gets the job done, When 7 comes out i will bide my time wait a bit then get it but i am not thinking of changing any time soon

I'll be sticking with Vista on my laptop. If I build a new desktop at some point, I'll probably go with Windows 7.

Eventually move to 7 from XP.

Once it has been out for abit and I hear more good things, I'm in no rush so I may aswell wait and let everyone else test the release water.

I'm afraid to do anything new to my computer. Since my last computer died, I've had to use a crappy spare. Decent video card, but my god the processor must be from the stone age!
If I go ahead and use anything besides XP the damn thing might implode.

Well, it was more about what you'll be investing in. And seeing as Linux is free, didn't really feel right including it. Also, the poll options list is full Haha.

No way am I paying that for an operating system

The windows I have now (not sure which) works just fine. Why pay all that money to fix what isn`t broken.

Nah, I'll be sticking to Leopard for the time being, though I may upgrade to Snow Leopard sometime next year, the difference in overall system speed is apparently worth it alone.

I run Vista through bootcamp so I might upgrade that to Windows 7, though I certainly won't be doing it for £150, for the amount I use Windows currently, it'd be a complete waste of money.

I'm another user of the W7 RC. Since that's good until sometime in March, I think, I'll stick with it for now. Eventually I'll upgrade to a full version of W7, but I don't have the money for it right now.

Get it off Amazon, it'll be half that.

I'm waiting until after Christmas so the new operating systems can be beta tested by you early adopter mugs, then switching to a Snow Leopard/7 dual boot system from my current Leopard/Vista system.
