I have been hearing allot about how great World of Warcraft is.
But I have never got a good answer about why it is good.
What makes this game so good?

I don't play it, because I don't really fancy the idea of having a full time job I have to pay for.

The fact that it's a game that can be played for many hours for a relatively cheap cost makes it good. Add to that decent production values and amazing art direction, and it's a well-made game.

For those of you who insist on flaming, the game is fun, and only addictive to those foolish enough to become consumed by it. Just because you don't enjoy a game doesn't mean you have to say that it's incredibly horrible, like some sort of spawn of Satan.

I enjoy World of Warcraft, and I'm proud to admit it.

Also, this thread has been done numerous times.

To the original poster - if you don't know whether WoW is good or not, why not find out for yourself? You can play it free for 10 days and stream the game (so no massive download required). Sorry but I'm not gonna argue the game's case when really all this can ever come down to is opinion

This. It's for people that enjoy MMOs. That's really all you can say if you're talking gameplay. Other than that, I also play it because I love the lore.

What's wrong with having a low post count?

I have a serious objection to paying for a game i already own. The exceptions to my 'No MMO' Rule will be Knights of the Old Republic, and D.C Universe (as long as i can be green arrow/batmanish, or a green lantern)

it was fun... but the game is way to unbalanced and when they do balance it properly the people who used to be OP start nagging and say that everyone kills them (isnt that what balance is about?? everyone able to be killed by everyone)
and obliviously blizzard listens

now anyone who plays wow and is going to flame this
ill bet a 100 of any currency that your class ingame = Rogue/Warlock/Paladin/Death Knight
Blizzard does the best they can. And I think they balance it as best they can when it comes to PvE; every class has a role. As for PvP, that's hard.

And I play an orc warrior. I'll be taking that $100 US now.

Done to death, however WoW is no different to any other game.. some people love it, some people hate it.

It is a massive timesink, but really, what game isn't?

its more boring than bad

I played it for about 20 min. and wanted to kill something.

All the quests I did was either deliver something, or collect X amount of items, or kill X amount of animals/creatures
