Inspired by the "Would you die for your country?" thread and nothing turned up on the searchbar.
Alright, I believe it was Patton who said something along the lines of, the object of war is not to die for your country, but to make another son of a ***** die for his. I think a lot of people would be willing to die for a purpose, to become martyrs, but how many of you would be willing to end the life of another human being?
I know if some country ever worked up the balls to invade Australia I'd be quite willing to put an end to them. That's just me, and I have a high respect for people who's morality or rationality would keep them from ever killing. Do you consider national interest a high enough reason to kill someone?
Edit- we've heard a lot about defending. Would you attack another country/people/culture if you thought it was in your country's best interest.
