Poll: Would you kill for your country?

Inspired by the "Would you die for your country?" thread and nothing turned up on the searchbar.

Alright, I believe it was Patton who said something along the lines of, the object of war is not to die for your country, but to make another son of a ***** die for his. I think a lot of people would be willing to die for a purpose, to become martyrs, but how many of you would be willing to end the life of another human being?

I know if some country ever worked up the balls to invade Australia I'd be quite willing to put an end to them. That's just me, and I have a high respect for people who's morality or rationality would keep them from ever killing. Do you consider national interest a high enough reason to kill someone?

Edit- we've heard a lot about defending. Would you attack another country/people/culture if you thought it was in your country's best interest.

I wouldn't kill for my country, but I would slaughter an entire battalion of enemies to protect the life of my fellow soldiers...

Depends. Killing "innocents", no. If not innocent, how ever as many as it would take.

But yeah 'd be reluctant to kill anyone unless they were trying to kill me.

I would kill or die for the cause of true Socialism or Democratic Socialism.

Granted my country's not the best, I don't have many friends, and I have a small immediate family . Still, it's better then being apathetic.

I would, but I would be realy, realy, realy bad at it.I doubt I´d last very long against people with guns. If they would be stupid enough to give me a gun I would probably last even shorter.

Well I'm actually in a real pickle, because I'm Half English and Half Finnish so I'm not sure who I'd side with.....and I've just realised that I forgot the main aim of this thread. Would I kill for my country? Surely not, I'm not a killing person. Ironically, I love war games.

I'd kill to my death for my country. Actually, I would do that for most of the North American and European countries. (Not just Canada eh)

Probably, but given that Canada hasn't had a significant battle on the home front for a couple of centuries I'd have to say I probably won't get the chance. Unless... American wants their white house burned to the ground again D:
