Star Wars: The Old Republic is undeniably one of the most promising and impressive MMOs i've ever seen. Speaking as someone who saw some of it at PAX East a few weeks ago, it's amazing and it can't come soon enough.
Which is why it's baffling to me why they don't put out an open beta of it.
Over a million people already are in line for closed testing, and I'm sure i'm not the only one who hasn't been picked to play. So why wouldn't Bioware just put out a beta?
Start doing pre-orders, and ensure beta access to buyers, something like that. The game I saw at PAX looks just too damn good to be almost a year away, and I think that putting out a beta of the game would whet the appetites of the public for a fully-fledged release.
What do you guys think?
