Would you rather

Kayaking - Kayak down rapids with no experience in kayaking

Base jumping - Base jump off of a mountain with a 50/50 chance of there being sharp rocks at the bottom (bring it on)

Kayaking, I've had plenty of practice & even if by some sort of magic I lost all my knowledge, I picked it up pretty quickly.

Base jumping is just crazy...

Kayaking, at least I'd have some semblance of control there. The base jumping one is pure luck, and that's silly.

Kayaking.
I've already been Kayaking a few times and it's quite simple to learn how to steer the damn thing, which in the case of rapids is kind of all you can do. I've never been base jumping before, but from what I can guess from Just Cause 2 it's basically parachute jumping off of buildings/high things. However I have no idea how to work a parachute aside from you're meant to pull a thing and even then, with a 50/50 chance of painful rock evisceration I'll take my chances with the speedy water slide.

Kayak.

Nothing to do with me being a kayaking coach or anything...

Heh, to be honest, while I'd love to give base jumping a go, it's not something major on my to-do list and I don't think it'll be something I'll ever get into in a major way.

Unlike kayaking. That said, it'd still be pretty scary being thrown down a grade five rapids when my upper limit is grade three right now. Good scary though :D

Kayaking. I've done some rafting in rapids before. I know you specifically say "no experience", but having gone through rapids I know how quickly you learn to maneuver the thing, so the "no experience" caveat isn't a big deal. Also, 50/50 survival is a deal breaker for me.

Base jumping.

It's a lot easier to drown in extreme water than to die from a bad landing. Getting the chute out is easy, you jump with the drogue in hand and the rest of the 'chute deploys almost immediately.

I guess it helps that I've jumped from numerous tall structures in the past, so clarity of thought wouldn't be an issue. My most recent was Aucklands Sky Tower, 629ft.

EDIT:

I guess I really should type it out as B.A.S.E. as it's actually an acronym.

Buildings
Antenna
Spans (bridges etc)
Earth

Man, what is it with the OP and these "choose this extreme option or that extreme option" threads? Are you compiling some kind of survey?

Anyway, I'd go with the kayaking option because the other one sounds like a stupid idea for anyone.

Well it doesn't really matter what I pick. If It looks like I'll get in trouble I can just use my teleporting power.
