I get the feeling that when most people get old they tend to Wii uncontrollably... [small]hyuk hyuk hyuk[/small]

On a slightly more serious note, I doubt it. If I do in retirement what I've spent my earlier years doing, I've failed at retirement.

Maybe when I get old they've taken some real steps developing games for elderly. Who knows?

Probably. I depends on whether I live that long, keep my eye sight/hearing (as that tends to go early in my family) and not develop chronic arthritis (which is also common in my famly).

T_T My genes are working against me.

I'll stop gaming when they pry the mouse and keyboard from my cold, dead, arthritis-ridden hands.

Modern gamers are getting older with the medium, it's likely to stay that way. Basically, this generation is one of gamers, so it's probably one trait that'll live on long enough for us to be appalled by the hyper-violence virtual-platforms that'll be turning our hypothetical grand-children into murderers.

Seing as I promised my friends that we would all meet and play Rock Band together at least once when we are old farts just for the sake of how funny that would be, I suppose i'm obligated to.

When I'm old, I'll be retired, and my failing body will discourage physical activities. Gaming seems like the perfect pastime.

When I get so old and play games im more worried about awkwardness of online interaction.

I can just imagen myself as a 70 year old saying curse words over a mic, and freaking out the rest of the server (if we still need servers).

Probably more than now. Although I'm not sure if I'll live that long.

I used to joke with a friend about watching the saved replays and playing Elasto Mania as 70-year-olds, rocking in a rocking chair.

Why would they be freaked out? Because you use such silly old timey swear words like f*** and s***?

ninjad. Assuming they haven't figured out a way to download our brains into robots/cyberspace by then.

No, I have a history of arthritis in my family.
They'll have cured it by then.

Turn based (or pause-able) games are already perfect for those of us whose reflexes and ability to grip controllers are failing. My dad is 60+, not in the greatest shape for his age, and still manages PC Fallout 3 with little difficulty.

I figure I'll always be able to fall back onto turn based tactical RPG's, Magic the Gathering or Civilization clones, when my Starcraft skills start to fail me :)
