Would you trade greater intelligence for a shorter lifespan?

To clarify when I say greater intelligence I mean gaining a an internationally high IQ e.g. 194, and having an eidetic memory and other traits of intelligence - in exchange for say 25 years off your lifespan (i.e. you'd die 25 years earlier than if you didn't take the deal).

If Yes why? and if no why not?

Yes, I want to die when i'm around 70, I assume i'm going to live longer than that though.

I wouldn't. I think being smarter makes you more miserable... Not that this is a good reason to completely disregard reason.

No, because I have an above average IQ as it is (so they tell me at least) and I'd rather have the chance of living to where life-extension technology gets to the point of letting me live for a very long time.

No probably not.

There's not much extra benefit from being hyper intellegent these days. Child prodigies are soon unnoticed when they grow up.

I'd rather be alive longer so there's more to experience.

Nope.
Id like to live as long as possible.
So what if i don't know everything or im not a super genius, i can still continue to learn as i live and enjoy life.

Considering I'm already fairly intelligent, I'd keep the lifespan and go through life the way I've been going through it already.

Yup. I have nothing planned in the last twenty-five years of my life, and added intelligence is always a plus.

Though that makes you think. If you're supposed to die in an accident 13 years from now, and you take the deal, does that alter spacetime and makes it so you died 12 years back?

If the conversion rate is worth it. But I would rather trade for the ability to see anyones name and life span, by looking at them.

Intelligence is sometimes overrated. Don't get me wrong, it's fun being smart, but being alive is my greatest virtue. There are things in life that I value more than intelligence.

really? If you're merely subscribing to the Death Note power then you wouldn't be able to read the lifespan anyway unless you study it a bit (and even then, who knows if their numbers work the same as ours, doubtful) And you'll do what with that? Be able to tell peoples names and when they die? Whys that worth half your life?

Because only a Shinigami could make the deal, which means I'd have a deathnote.

My life's goal is to gather knowledge and information. I'll take the extra INT on top of what I already have. And the last 25 years of my life, well, I'd rather die a happy, vibrant 60-year-old than a wheezing, moaning, bedridden, incontinent 85-year-old.

No.

Men already have their lifespans shortened because we get to be bigger than women, and I'd like to keep the cut-backs to a minimum!
