Ok fellow wow healers, I want to hear from you, what do you think of your healing toons since the Cataclysm release? I use to enjoy healing, it was fun, and kind of relaxing, with some challenge from time to time. Now, if you don't do everthing exactly the right way (I.E. the one way they thought of) your pug will fail. So what do you think, is it way harder/impossible, or do you think it is indeed just a little more challenge as blizzard claims? Also, does anyone else think the mana cost has gone WAY up, versus a lack luster improvement on the spells actual usefulness? Does anyone else feel like healing has lost some of its old fun? Is anyone else sick or instant deaths/super high damage attacks with little warning (even with DBM sometimes)? I?m all for a challenge (who just wants to stand around and watch others have fun), but how much challenge is enough for a pug group with total strangers that may or may not be total tool bags?

It's exactly the same, unless you're a moron. It was hard initially, but that's just a learning curve, once you get the hang of it, you're just following th emotions again, and casting the same spells...again. it may or may not be a different spell, but it is no different. Also there's plenty of leeway on how you do it. It's not just one way or fuck you.

Mana costs went way up, so did spell usefulness, completely disproportionate because that's the effect they wanted, you cast less, so you have to make it count. It gets completely nullified -fast- though. Anyone having mana issues has not figured out the quirks of their class yet, and needs to look into it more.

Healing has lost it's "old" fun, but it's gotten much more fun as a result. The old fun was some shitty hack job so you could just smash your penis into the keyboard and the raid would be alright! Now you actually have to pay attention. Thank god. Sadly WoW players are not good at that.

The instant deaths are avoidable, the super high damage attacks are healable, it's a non-issue.

The challenge however is not in the content or the mechanics, it's in other people learning what to do. People are playing cata like wrath and figuring out it doesn't work like that. Then trying to force it to work like that, and failing on a level that a facepalm can't even come -close- to.

I have never healed a raid or even a HC but ordinary dungeons are so easy to heal its boring. With my priest I can heal just with smite + atonement talent and no one ever dies.

As someone who has healed as a priest in WoW for the duration of its run. I find the recent changes not hard or easy but awkward. Alot of the spells are entirely situtional and a class will do massively more healing than another on a fight. I admit It took me a little while to adjust to the new healing but now that I have I just find the chakra states irritating more than anything. If we have half of our abilities resricted while we use others then we should do more healing than other classes surely as they have access to all of them. Of course Blizzard has a hard on for paladins and they can still just slam thier faces into the keyboard merrily while the rest of us have to make an effort. Jus sayin...

As for five mans I found them pretty easy but I'm the GM of a guild so I got the pick of the peoples :p

They totally broke disc healing priests in pvp also it was horrible. I actually got further in arena as holy. :/
