You're new here aren't you. This argument has gotten very old. I'd also recommend you try and reword your message before people far more impolite than me see it :p

In answer to your question though: Yes. Yes I do.

I think Call of duty: World at War killed WWII games. My personal opinion is that WWII FPS games will never get much better then that and they need to move on. Next up, Korea.

No they are not. Game developers just keep repeating the same boring scenarios (Normandy, Normandy and god damn Normandy) and forget that there are lots of untouched ground that would prove interesting for example: Poland 39, France 40, China, desert warfare, Philippines, Winter war and playing as German soldier (bitter Barbarossa here we come). Still waiting for a FPS that shows Germans as human beings with emotions..

Seconded, Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts did this pretty well so why can't FPS'? I will never understand other then they are so politically correct they fear protest from showing that Greater Germany was made up of human beings who bled, died and showed honor in the feat of arms just like their Western and Eastern Counterparts.

He was being a whole lot more helpful than other people will be and he did have something to say - he answered your poll. Try to be a little more receptive to good advice.

I did have something to say about the topic. I answered your question, didn't I? I just didn't really feel like elaborating...

And anyway chill out. I was just suggesting that maybe you research other threads first, before posting one that has already been done to death. Also, when one posts a thread they're expected to elaborate a little more than what you did (and don't have a go at me for being a hypocrite; posting in a thread is completely different than creating a thread)

Yes they have. There are numerous other conflicts that I'd like to see developers exploit: WWI, Korea, Vietnam (properly, not half-assed), Russia v Afganistan, Grenada/Panama (or similar setting).

I really think that they fall back on WWII because it's what they know, what they've made money on. I guess the addage works, "if it aint broke, don't fix it!"

I'm just sick of every forum I'm on. I get fucked with by know it all assholes. Who think just because they have been on a forum longer than me. Is supposed to mean I am inferior to them. Or that I know nothing and they know everyhting. So please if anyone else feels the need to start shit on my polls, go beat your wife instead or something.

In my opinion:

No, they are not.

Why? The WW2 you've all seen has been worn out, done, beaten to death, etc. Those are the Call of Duty series, Medal of Honor, etc. That's all about how great the Allies were at D-Day, how they kicked Jerries' butt and how they stormed the Reichstag and waved their little flag. It's all about Omaha Beach, Battle of the Bulge, Kursk, Stalingrad and Arnhem.

That's the WW2 you've seen, and it's all in arcadey glory. No wonder you've had enough, it becomes stale at one point.

What we haven't seen, however, is .. basically anything.. from the German point of view. The Invasion of France, Soviet Union.. heck, what about the Invasion of Crete? What we haven't seen anywhere (okay, Red Orchestra, but that's more of a Team Deathmatch than anything else) is "realism". Call of Duty and Medal of Honor is all about the running and gunning, picking up ammo and healthpacks or in the later games hiding behind obstacles, sucking your thumb and ready to go.

Oh and there's so much more. WW2 wasn't just limited to infantry running and gunning, though.

if they aren't played out they're getting close, maybe they should stop doing wars that happened and do wars that only happened ie: Cuban missile crisis, what if it had gone to war

or they could do some of the wars no one knows about, Grenada anyone? whatever they do there has to be something we haven't done 500 times already

edit: well if they showed parts of WWII we haven't seen, japan invading china and the Philippines, germany marching into france and poland, then they could get a few more games out of it

While I always did wish Treyarch would do something different than WW2 shooters, I think it was a good thing that happened, because now the rest of the world knows that they are played out, so next game they will do something different. Plus I think that this one was a good way to go out, it was a good game to end it with.

But with IW doing Modern warfare 2, I'm starting to think that modern warfare will be the new WW2.

If you can't take advice/constructive criticism then I don't really know what to say to you. There's a difference between people who're trying to help by giving advice to a newcomer, and "know it all assholes".

Yes, but that's because I keeping kicking the Nazi's asses. I'm tired of it. Why not a controversial Holocaust game, with a magical twist to make it seem less realistic or soemthing, where you play as a Nazi who can't stand to see his best friend (who is gay in this case) get tortured, so he rebels and he finds a "mystical" reason as to why there are concentration camps and what Hitler is after.
Or a normal game in which you play as a Nazi JUST A NEW FRIGGEN POINT OF VIEW. Even better, let's switch to WWI for a while, it'd be great for those snipers because of the trenches and great for the infantry players because of the running from one side to the other. Just as long as it's epic.
That's all I'm saying, we need new ground, and for the record Wolfenstein does kind of do that which is why I like it.
