No wonder its under bad language if you can't spend the time to spell check.

And yes, the Live system is often abused by the ragers. This is common knowledge to most people. It should be scrapped I agree.

No because i'm not fussed about my rep, mine is shit something like 40% actually like me. I couldn't care less what people say about me because they can't see it.

Also does anyone care about their rep?

I don't understand the Rep Thingy. It says like 60% of people hate me, but I still have 5 stars. The hell?

My rep's on 5 stars, 'cos I make such a non-impression that noone registers me being there!

It's utterly pointless, but I can see how the idea would have been a good idea at the time.

I dont really mind it. The only useful bit is preffering people when you hope to play with them again but dont wanna bother friend inviting them.

Omg I fucking hate you! Use a goddman period once in a while! Shit!

At any rate, yes it should be scrapped. Everyone and their grandma has a 5-star rep after one positive review which I think is pre-school bullshit. It's like saying "you didn't do a good job, but here's a gold star for trying!" I think the "prefer/avoid" feature is a plus though since most 360 games use matchmaking which means you can't pick which server you want to play on. The prefer/avoid feature means you'll have a less likely chance of being paired with the same assholes over and over.

But whatever, it's here, it's queer, get used to it.

This will probably get me banned, but I was being suggestively sarcastic. Look it up.

I have around a 65/35 Negative/Positive ratio. Most of it is for "Aggressive behaviour" or "Bad Language" which is odd as I only use the mike when I'm in parties. I don't teabag or send "pwnd" messages, so god knows what the aggressive behaviour is.

In short, it's flawed, but the avoidance system can work well.

your probably getting bad rep for being good at the game.

when will ragers ever learn that some people are just better then them (usually always a LOT better then them)

i agree, the rep system serves no actual purpose, the mean people will almost always have five stars becuase of there friends

The rep system in itself is pointless, except to show who's new to live and who isnt.
One you get to five stars it cant go down, and everyone gets to five stars after a certain amount of time playing.
Ergo, rep system is good because it helps spot new players.

(Also others would say GamerScore could be used for this but some people only have a couple of games, or game-specific profiles leading to low scores.)

Yes, well, I'd appreciate it, too. Following simple rules of grammar like punctuation makes it much easier for us to understand what you're trying to say. The more readable your post is, the more likely you are to get responses to it.

I think a rep system is a fine idea, but XBL's is abused pretty regularly, thus defeating its purpose. An overhaul would be great, but I'm not sure there's a way to prevent people from giving bad ratings out of spite.

I've run into this as well. I never teabag in public rooms unless I'm playing against somebody I know, I never grief, I never cuss people out or send messages UNLESS they are clearly using a modded controller or something similar, which fortunately is pretty rare.

I imagine a lot of the negative reviews I've gotten for "aggressive behavior" stem from the rare games of CoD where I go on a sniping rampage...not spawn-camping or anything, but just picking off groups of guys with a sniper rifle. Or perhaps my shotgun/sword sprees in Halo...like the time I got the Open Season medal in a Multi-Team match.

My brother had a spotless record until I used his account twice on Halo 3 and started swearing (not at anyone in particular; I have a bad temper). He started wondering how he got the 70/30 positive/negative split due to bad language.

It's currently too limited and open to abuse. I think unless they take it seriously and give it some tweaking it needs to be scrapped.
