I may seem like a heartless bastard but I don't have sympathy for them.

Usually I ignore them. Sometimes they are just way too fucking pushy and I do end up insulting them. But if they're just like "Change?" and I put my hand up like "no." and they don't bother me anymore, I leave it at that.

Well, it is illegal to actively beg here, so we don't really get beggars.
However, you do see the odd homeless person in places, and when I see them, I usually give them money, and on one freezing morning when I was with my dad, we bought some hot food and gave that to a homeless man.

Really? I go for about a pound. Any more than that seems too much, but you can't really give less without being a dick.

Honestly the best thing to do is give them food. Plus I did that once and became friends with a man doing that. He was quite a smart person and I hope he was able to get his life back.

Showing kindness by far is one of the greatest things you can every do.
