So i do math for fun and I'm taking a quantum mechanics course over the summer. To me thats a nerd, someone interested in intellectual pursuits for fun (usually math and science). I'm also a bit of a geek, I play video games and read comic books. Geeks are people interested in pop culture comics, manga ect. Theirs certainly a lot of overlap of the two but I think they're different.
I ask because I have a friend (who's a geek) who gets insulted when you call him a nerd. And another who's a nerd (seriously mathematics genius child) who's insulted by the term geek.
So here's my question. What is your definition of a geek or nerd? Which one are you? Is one good or bad? Also may be writing a paper on this (my english class is awesome) so any help you can give would be fantastic!
