I'm always going to go with ol' Jack. I did love the Joker from the animated series, but Jack Nicholson will always be my main clown.
Mark Hamill, though this is based from watching The Dark Knight and playing Arkham Asylum as I can't really remember the other ones that much.
I have to go with Heath Ledger as he managed to deliver a damn fine performance and remain creapy without over egging it. All the manerisms just add up
Mark Hamill wasn't in The Dark Knight, that was Heath Ledger. He was the Joker in Arkham Asylum though.xavierxenon said:

While Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger were absolutely great Jokers (...Cesar Romero in a certain way too, actually...has there ever been a bad Joker?), Mark Hamill is defining for me.
He just has the right nuances and is classic without being too "comic-y". So he wins.

It was a draw between Jack and Heath there, seriously I had to flip a coin. I liked how both were the kinda of asshole, truly crazy deranged and psychopathic Joker I always pictured that character to be. Heath won in the end, he was heads and it landed on it.
Now I will give Hamill props for his role int he animated series he had the laugh down that is truly the creepiest of all the joker laughs but I'm keeping Heath as my favorite Joker as again it was how he played it, the laugh is an important part of the Joker but to bring real fear and creepiness from the way they play the full role not just a small piece.

Jack Nicholson, hands down the best.
He did the joker well, I really didnt like Heath Ledgers Joker. The Joker shouldnt be dark and creepy, he should be out there, over the top and funny(sort of). Jacks had perfect make up, it was solid white, strong green hair and just looked the part 100%.
I so, so wish that the Revolver with the fucking long barrel was in the Dark Knight... but i knew it wouldnt be.

This is going to sound really typical and maybe even a little jingoistic given that he and I were from the same country and even the same damn city.... but Heath Ledger just brought a nice level of crazyness and darkness to the character and was unpredicatable enough to keep me interested.
