The media is no stranger to zombies. Since the earliest black and white movies depicting them zombies have been sighted in just about every form of media. Naturally they have done a lot of evolving over the years to fit in with our standards. For a while there was the idea of the undead being supernatural then when someone came up with the idea of zombie infestation they became the result of some kind of epidemic. Then eventually they abandoned their slow movements and put on running shoes around the time of 28 days later.
Then they eventually reached space with the Flood and Dead Space and any others I may have forgotten.
But now I ask you, what is your favourite zombie type and why? I made a long list of potential zombies but if there is any other kind you can think of please mention it.

I like the fast and aggresive ones...they actually seem dangerous, unlike the slow type of zombies.

Also, Systemshock 2 and Half Life did space zombies first. And if you want you can count the Xenomorphs and maybe the Goa'ul as space zombies.

Oh crap, I actually forgot about those SS and HL, silly me. Thanks for reminding me actually.

I'm partial to the Pet Sematary zombie: a much-loved person brought back to life, who turns out to be no longer the person you once knew... The fact that it's personal makes it more horrifying.

I must say I'm not sold on "fast zombies". There are plenty of fast enemies; zombies are slow. It's kind of their thing that individually they aren't all that dangerous, but as a collection they will inevitably spread through the population and become more and more unstoppable. If you want something fast that will eat you, go with vampires or zerg or just wolves. On the other hand, the pseudo-zombies in 28 Days Later are fun to watch.

I'd have to say that I'm more a fan of the Shaun of the Dead type zombie. They give the zombie apocalypse a humorous edge (Did you see his head go?.) Not to mention it offers the chance of survival, whereas with the fast aggressive ones, you kind of just have to sit in a hole and wait to die if you don't get taken in the original outbreak.

I prefer slow, lurching zombies. This is because the idea of fast zombies gives me the total willies.

I am a chicken.

I like slower ones because they are easier to kill until you run out of ammo and join their ranks. Atleast you'll never be alone.

Well, running zombies have been around for while actually, long before 28 Days Later. I recall seeing them in an old movie, but the name escapes me. But they've been around for atleast 30 years, maybe even longer.

Anyway, I like the lurching undead. I just think that zombies are supposed to be slow, it just doesn't feel right when they run around full speed. It's probably because in the first zombiemovies I saw they were lurching. When I saw movies with them running around it felt weird.

While I don't see 28 days later as a real zombie film I kinda like the style the infected are in that film. Back in the old days, Zombies kinda represented the stupid masses that had no will and just did a few things repeating them again and again. While the new zombies aren't any cleverer, they've gotten the whole faster-faster-faster attitude that comes with todays world.
But maybe I'm just overinterpreting that stuff :p

I like old old fashioned, slow movies, arms over their heads zombies. Sure, they are easier to get away, but they have enough Zombies and they will get you.

Had to say "accountants" since I'm studying to become one. Zombie-like as the breed may seem, I've never met an accountant that didn't have the soul of a poet---I think staring at numbers all day tends to make the right half of the brain get bored and start wandering.

I love the slow, lurching undead. In particular, the kind where you empty an entire clip into their body and they're still coming towards you. There's something about a nigh-unkillable zombie horde slowly lurching towards a city that makes me want to get a zombie survival kit.

I prefer the good ol' fashioned slow zombie (after all, the word zombie is often used to describe something that is 'slow, sluggish, mindless, stupid or not quite there in the head).

They aren't any less dangerous than the speedy zombies unless you're looking at fast paced action games and movies (Resi 4 is a good example), they are just a different kind of scary and dangerous (the 'alone in the dark in a place far from home on a stormy night' kind of scary, traditional claustrophobic horror).

I like the slow ones. This, because they are actually way scarier than the fast ones. And they are the only true zombies. >.>

I would have to say virus zombies are the coolest.

How ever I would rather run into voodoo/ curse zombies, they are by far the least dangerous.
