Street Fighter for me. I love the competitive nature of it, and the easy to learn hard to master aspect of it

And also, I need to post this up cause its always a fun thing to do in fighting game topics =D

Im going to say Bloody roar because I know its not going to be high ranked, and I did play a LOT of it... But only because I was heavily on Acid at the time and the "tracer" mode

I would argue, technically, the best technical fighting game ever was Virtua Fighter 2

Most played? Prolly a mortal kombat or Killer instinct.

Best all around, prolly Tekken for the variance of fighting styles.

But yeah, lets go with Bloody roar.

Tekken is just plain fun to play. More so that any of the others. Soul Calibur & DOA (2 only) would be second place.

Your lack of Guilty Gear disturbs me. That is the best fighting game series hands down, it's essentially Street Fighter on crack and cranked up to 11. SO much depth, such amazing combat, kick ass characters and music, it's a massive bundle of AWESOME.

It trumps every other 2D fighter in my opinion.

And if I have to chose some of my favorite individual games it's have to be Guilty Gear X2 Accent Core, Blazblue Continuum Shift, and Dissidia: Final Fantasy. No other fighter out there comes close the the awesome and sheer fun factor of these games. I love em to death and a all amazing fighters.

Street Fighter and Tekken are ok but they don't have the same level of enjoyment for me. Killer Instinct is awesome and Soul Calibur is always a fun and rather laid back fighter. Oh and Fate Unlimited Codes is pretty damn good if you ever play it.

BlazBlue Calamity Trigger and BlazBlue Continuum Shift are easily the best two I've ever played.

No Super Smash Brothers?
not in the same class type.
How is that, exactly?
Because all the others are generally one to one fights, pitting what could more or less be considered human combatants against each other. And there generally aren't any power ups falling into the field.

Fair enough. I've always considered a fighting game, but I've never played any of the ones in the poll.

They are always fun to get into, and offer a different sort of competitiveness, and community than the average FPS sort of community. That and they have made somewhat of a comeback, with Street Fighter, Tekken and Blazblue coming out, so maybe pick up one of those??

(Super Street Fighter 4, Tekken 6, and Blazblue:Continuum Shift, I mean)

Bloody roar! Wow I remember that, I used to play a demo of it as a really young kid. I had totally forgotten about it. Its amazing the things stored inside your head that remain dormant for decades.

That's not my choice, Tekken is. Tekken 2 to be specific.

That's a damn good game
