This could either be a "great" year for comic book movies... or, well, a mixed one. Either way, it'll at least be interesting. From Man of Steel to the long awaited Sin City sequel, which of these are you more excited to see? How do you think they'll turn out?

Personally, Man of Steel and Sin City 3 get my vote, but I want to see what you guys have to say.

Well, let's see - I don't really watch a lot of movies, nor am I into comic books that much - here is an outsider's view:

Man of Steel - some Superman movie...Last one I watched was Superman 2. Yeah. I'm not that much into him and this, from what I know, is a reboot - I'm not much into reboots either. It never was on my radar (I thought it was actually out already), so no.

Thor: The Dark World - well, I watched Avengers and know very little of Thor himself. I'll happily skip this.

Iron Man 3 - I watched the first one and it was alright but I was never invested enough to watch the second one.

Kick-Ass 2 - Never watched the first but I intend to...at some point. After that, I'll see about 2.

Sin City 2: A Dame to Kill For - It's probably the highest aticipated one for me. Erm, and I heard of it now. I really liked Sin City, I'd want to see what would happen in a sequel

The 300 Sequel (yeah, that's a thing) - nah, I already feel robbed for watching the first one.

The Wolverine - wasn't there a movie about him already? I believe it was called something else but I seem to recall it being a thing. At any rate, I was never really a big fan of Wolverine. I know, grab your torches and pitchforks but I don't find him bad, just not as interesting. For what it's worth, I might give it a try.

R.I.P.D - I've got no clue what that even is.

I'll go with Man of Steel mostly because it's not a sequel and I don't know what R.I.P.D is.

It's got the capability to be surprising and very different from what I'm expecting, hell I'm not even sure what to expect from it.

Most of the others seem fairly clear in what type of movie they'll be and what type of plot they'll have.

OT: I will probably see Thor and Wolverine as Marvel makes pretty badass super hero movies. Although I dislike Iron Man's character so I'll give his movie the slip, that with all the others that I have no interest in.

I came into this thread thinking "There's like...two comic movies coming out, how is this a vote". I didn't realize that there were so many coming out. if it helps for reference, I have seen all of the first movies (except for RIPD since that looks to be the first).

Man of Steel: Cautiously optimistic. The Man of Steel has had troubles being interesting and hasn't had a great recent track record but I'll keep an eye on it.

Thor: I'm excited. I really liked Thor and found it one of the better Avengers Project movies.

Iron Man 3: Fuck Yeah! RD Jr. automatically wins because he's Robert Mother-Fucking Downey Jr. You can't win. It's like having the bad ass of Batman combined with the swag of...well...Robert Downey Jr. I swear that man could sell ice to Eskimos. Alright...enough man-crush, let's get to the other options.

Kick-Ass 2: Eh. It worked beautifully for the first movie but I can't see the formula working again. It just doesn't seem like the "sequel" type of movie but I'm willing to give it a chance to prove me wrong.

Sin City 2: Had no clue this even existed. The first one was...alright. I'll wait for reviews on this one.

300 Sequel: I thought this got axed? Weird. Anyway, see Sin City 2.

The Wolverine: You have a lot to make up for Hugh Jackman after that abortion of a movie you had Wolverine in. See Sin City 2.

RIPD: What the fudruckers is that? The description sounds really cool but more research must be done...

So there you go. Tippy2k2's guide to the comic book movies coming out.

Actually there were four. Sure X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the only one to feature his name in the title, but in the three films before it, Wolverine was essentially the main character in all of them. The fact that he wasn't (sort of) in the movie was one of the reasons I loved First Class so much.

Yeah, I did look it up. I had never heard of the movie or the comic.

Ah, that's the one I was thinking of. I know he was in other movies (duh) but I meant there was one solely devoted to Wolverine. And seems I was correct.

I'm probably going to see most of the films on this list, but Man of Steel is my most anticipated. I think that Iron Man 3 is more likely to be good, but if Man of Steel really pulls itself off well it could be a game-changer.

I'll say Man of Steel because it is Zack Snyder and I like his work. Even though I am not a big Superman fan, the Christopher Nolan Batman films made me like Batman, since I never liked him before, so maybe this new Superman reimagining will make me like Superman? Whooo knows.

*Oops didn't see Kick-Ass 2 on the list. Man of Steel falls to second place. I might actually go to the cinema to see Kick-Ass 2. LOVE the first one.

agreed with all this. i really hope they do it well, i love superman (much more of a DC fan myself anyways) but with how much of a roll robert downey jr has been with iron man/avengers, i can see iron man 3 being the best for this summer.

Probably Iron Man 3. I LOVE the Iron Man movies(and Robert Donwey Jr, rawr yes please). I love Ben Kingsley too.

Also looking forward to Kick Ass 2, I bought the comic yesterday so I'm just waiting to read that. The lack of Nicolas Cage in this one will surely break my heart but I am a strong woman who will soldier on.

The Wolverine too, even though Wolverine gets a ridiculous amount of fan service I've always enjoyed the X-men movies. (and again, Hugh Jackman yes please)
I liked the first Sin City so I'll be watching the sequel. Ooosh! I'll watch all these movies but I know I'll enjoy some more than others.

Coming into this thread, I was going to vote Iron man 3. Then I learned that there's going to be a sin city 2. This pleases me a great deal.

Hell, I'm looking forward to pretty much all of these movies. Except, I'm not so sure that kick-ass needed a sequel. But I guess I'm remaining cautiously optimistic about that one.

I am a huge fan of kick ass and sin city so I am extremely excited for the two sequels. Also although I am not a large fan of superman I think the man of steel movie looks great not to mention it has 2 of my favorite directors on it, I love the new direction they are taking it.

Probably Thor 2 or Iron Man 3. The Wolverine movie could also be ok, but it's difficult to get excited about it since the previous Wolverine movie was so bad. In general, I'm getting pretty bored with the whole comic book movie genre though. Also, hated Kick-Ass.

Iron Man 3, though I doubt I'll watch it at all.

Don't like Superman, was disappoint by the first Thor, haven't seen Kick-Ass, have seen all the X-Men and didn't like them much, never heard of Sin City or R.I.P.D., not tempted to see another 300.

Superhero movies aren't really my thing.

Holy hell, I didn't know there were so many movies coming out this year that come from comic books.

With that said, I can't really decide but it's between Iron Man 3, Man of Steel and The Wolverine for me.

Probably Iron Man 3

I'm still very curious about Man of Steel, but considering the track record of recent Superman movies i just can not get hyped for it. I have hope it's gonna be good, but yeah... Iron Man gets most of my hype here.

I was going to say Thor 2, without a doubt. I loved the first Thor movie, and I loved the Avengers, so more Thor would be great (with Iron Man 3 being a near second).

But then you wrote the words "Kick Ass 2".

WHY HAD I NOT HEARD ABOUT THIS BEFORE?! **shakes Miss Layton back and forth**

So I voted Kick Ass 2. Because holy shit they're making another Kick Ass movie!!! That kicks ass! **rimshot**

That sounds awesome! And it's got Kevin Bacon from the EE adverts and Jeff "The Dude" Bridges.

OT: I don't read comics at all so the only ones that I'm interested in are Sin City 2 and Kick-Ass 2, possibly Woleverine.
