Poll: Your opinion on facial hair

Excuse the slightly 'meh' topic name. I don't feel as creative tonight.

Simple question really, posed to both males and females.

Guys: do you like your facial hair?

Girls: do you like facial hair on men?

That is the poll question. For more discussion value, I pose the following...

Guys: how do you like to keep your facial hair? shave often, sideburns only, sport the 'stache?

Girls: If you don't like a guy's facial hair...why? If you do, what style do you prefer/what do you like about it?


I am being extremely general, and blunt here, but I was just curious, after having the discussion with some friends. Most guys I know either like it or are just completely indifferent towards their facial hair. And few women I know actually like it, most loathe it. So escapists... your thoughts?


As for myself, I am akin only to what I can sport well, which is really only the goatee.

If the guy can pull it off good for him. I stay clean shaven, because I get all patchy and I look better shaved.

I grew an epic beardstache when I graduated from high school, but I've been clean shaven since then. I'm planning on doing it again once I'm out of college.

I like a little bit of facial hair but not too much. My boyfriend has a stash and goatee and I quite like it, I actually haven't seen him without it.

i dont care what other people do, but me personally, after i haven't shaved for about 2 days, it bugs the living fuck out of me, i dont know if its a phobia or what but i constantly think about it and scratch at it until i shave it off..

so clean shaven for me personally, but for anyone else, its your face, do whatever.

i have to be clean-shaven for work but on the weekends i grow a bit of scruff. i think it fills out my face better.

edit also when i buy alcohol with a beard, i get carded but without it no one believes i'm 24

I love some good, well kept facial hair, which I unfortunately cannot manage quite yet.
I have to admit though, I find most mustaches kind of silly. Just my opinion, obviously.

The only reason I have facial hair is that I'm too lazy to shave...

I am completely indifferent. When I shave I shave all of my facial hair though. I don't think I can pull off anything other than the full beard.

I am of mixed feelings on the matter. On the one hand, an evil goatee (you know, like the ones from Star Trek) can be very sexy. Aries had one in Xena (for a few seasons anyway). Mmm... so very hot. (Also, what was up with his sideburns? Weird.)

But, in practice... they're kinda scratchy. Particularly in sensitive places.

So I voted indifferent. I'm not really indifferent, I'm ambivilent. Beards LOOK sexy... and they can be fun to kiss if one is in the proper mood, but they have drawbacks once looking sexy has moved on to... well, sex.

I love my beard. People are always surprised to find I am only 18. My girlfriend likes it too.
