I was wondering on what your view on a little argument me and my friend were having.

In the first video my friend makes the comment "Hey guys its *beep* here" which was making a joke out of my other friends intro to his YouTube videos.

My other friend (whose name it was I beeped out) went and remixed that bit of audio.

My video was NOT under a creative commons license.

So I claimed this infringes on my copyright as my video was not a creative commons video. My friend then said that my video infringes on his copyright even though I did not take the sound out of any of his videos and I beeped his YouTube name out.

So who do you think infringed on copyright. Me, him, both of us or neither?

P.S I am biased but look at the videos and make your own mind up.

I think you're making a big deal out of something that really, really, really, really, really, really doesn't matter. Seriously. Go volunteer at a soup kitchen or something. This is a waste of both your time and energy.

The longer you care about this the worse off you'll be in the end.

It is Youtube. It matters less than a twig getting between the grooves in your shoe.

You have much better things to do.

It's cute that people actually believe they can throw something onto the internet and as long as they shout "This are copyright, originul caracter do not steel!!!" then they have an actual, legal right to protect their material and can get other people punished by the Internet Police.

Like another poster said: fair use covers using excerpts for the purpose of parody, not that I think either party had a leg to stand on anyway, legally speaking.
