In Chapter 2, Chamber 8 - Glados says something too quick to make out, claiming its 'the fast version' of how to solve the test.

Now I slowed this audio down and it comes out as 'and methodically knocking people's hats off - then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can'

This text appears to be from Chapter 1 - Loomings from Moby Dick. I have no idea why this is relevant and cant find anything else on it anywhere online, anyone have any clue as to what it may be?

If it appears to be from Chapter One of Moby Dick, then that's probably what it is.

I imagine that the programmed blocks against helping subjects solve the test apply even if the words are sped up, so Glados just picked something random since it didn't matter anyway. I'm mainly impressed that Valve sped up actual words rather than just using gibberish.

Clearly a TF2 reference what with the obvious and over-bearing emphasis on the word 'hat'. And after all, that -is- the main gameplay goal in TF2, that is to kill an opponent in the game is to 'knock their hat off' quite literally.
