Looks bad. No other way to say it. Looks like what Cronenberg would have designed if he were asked to make a giant fighting robot out of 5 smaller fighting robots and put no effort into it.

While it's fairly ugly, I've seen many toys that don't do an original design justice, so hopefully this is one of them.

Then again, their suits are fairly ugly so I don't see why this would be different.

It barely looks like a robot, what with the humanlike thighs and biceps and that undersuit-like texture.

Looking at it I wouldn't think it was a robot, more some sort of alien organic power armour sort of thing, though looking at the new Rita maybe that is what they're going for?

Personally I would have preferred a modern take on the original design rather than a completely new design.

Looking at it, there's no way to discern how it combines... the only way you can see it is a combiner is the scattered splashes of different colours.

A good combiner should let you figure out the basics of the combination from looking at it, or at least include some design elements of the individual units beyond the colours.

Ya know, I was going to get mad but, well, 1. Already got mad at the Rangers, so this is just par for the course, 2. Even a good Power Rangers movie might have a shitty Megazord design and 3. I never really cared for the Megazords when I WAS a fan of Power Rangers.

It look like a guy in a suit/ armor than it is an mech. Does the zoids just merge together or something?

That's exactly what I'm thinking, How does this combine together? If their not even attempting that then that's just lazy. This Looks like it was design By the movie crew first instead of a toy. I understand it's weird to complain that a toy company didn't design something for a movie but super sentai/power ranger megazords usually looked great design work And even the worst ones have some kind of charm to them, Especially how they combine together. This is a huge disappointment that aren't even going to try especially since the original megazord/Robo was one of the best designed the series ever had.

Yeah, the toy should be able to combine, this looks like it would be impossible to separate into its original zords. Some of my earliest memories are putting together/taking apart the megazord, this looks like its just a generic action figure.

...I'm quite perplexed by the fact that they beefed up the metal on the power armors so as to make the cast almost resemble robots, but trimmed down the metal on the robot so as to make it almost resemble a guy in piecemeal armor.

So... did they even once look at the original zord?

I prefer this guy, at least it has character to it and doesn't look as "bland".

This is what happens when you take the a goofy, cheesy property like Power Rangers, and you try to give it a dark and edgy reboot. I'm still trying to figure out who this is for. It almost feels aimed at teenagers. They would have been better off making a family film that hit the nostalgia buttons of the children who grew up with it. A lot of the people who watched it when it first came out have kids now. Instead it feels like its targeting the highschool crowd, which is probably a mistake.

It doesn't suck. I do agree with the people complaining about how it doesn't look like an actual combining toy. The whole point of Power Rangers is that the robots piece together and become a super-robot. Now sure, that's also the point of Voltron. But the point is, both points are great, and that's the point.

Then again, this is apparently leaked, so no way to know if this is an actual toy or just a proof-of-concept made for the film. I'm leaning towards the latter.
