That is some severely ugly visual design across the board.

Someone got paid to design that stuff. Dear God.

Power is a great song but I feel that it's mis-used here

The song literally says "no one man" but it's a team of five...
Right...as in no one man can do it alone, thus why it's a team. At least I'm guessing that's the context of "no one man", but this is Kanye we're talking about, and that fucktard is so crazy that who knows what the lyrics actually mean. Could be a story about a bowel movement he had in a hotel once.

At least the grit isn't dripping off of it like many movies tend to do in the past years. That being said, it doesn't really look like power rangers either. Power rangers was campy as all hell. And this, while not dripping with grit, still looks like it's supposed to be serious. Maybe something I'll eventually watch if it's on Netflix or something. Not gonna pay for a cinema ticket for it though, or buy it on DVD.

And the movie is gonna suck now that I checked who are the people behind this movie,

Exhibit A: The Director:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dean_Israelite

Who the hell is this guy and why should I care? His feature debut is mixed to negative.

Exhibit B: The Story Writers, perticularly the most egregious:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Sazama_and_Burk_Sharpless

Dracula Untold? The Last Witch Hunter? Gods of Egypt!?

Yep this movie will suck balls. Why was Bryan Cranston so enthusiastic about this movie?

I actually thought it looked alright. Right until it looked like the rangers faces are uncovered most of the time.

I expect more from a modern movie with a multimillion budget than I do from a cobbled together 90s TV show.

I wonder why they didn't just remix the original theme. Or better yet as of Power Rangers tradition make a new theme where you get a popular artist to do it. A Power Rangers theme made by a top popstar has the potential to be amazing... Or amazing in a completely unintentional way.

It's more from Iron Man I think, and Samurai co-opted the same technique as well. It's because a lot of acting comes from facial expressions, and if you're just staring at a blank mask a lot of the time, it reduces emotional engagement.

I think it was overused with Venom, mind you, since he's NOT meant to be someone to empathize with, and it takes away from the alienness of him, but I'm down for the technique being used here.

Looks good to me. Not AMAZING like the trailers for Avengers or Captain America but as someone who still considers the series (MMPR in particular) a guilty pleasure this looks a lot better (or at least more interesting and better made) than I expected.

I still think Rita looks kinda strange but I can kinda forgive them for going so far from the original. Classic Rita would never work as an active threat like she seems to be in this. Classic Rita was an armchair general at best.

I hope it does well if only so we get a sequel with Lord Zedd. He was already pretty threatening.
