Well anyway seeing as its pretty much confirmed there is going to be another mass effect game, or trilogy, What are everyone's predictions on what it will be?

1) Seeing as they're using the Frostbite 2 now I'm half expecting them to do a Mass Effect/Battlefield spinoff, which I actually wouldn't mind. Hell even if they did a Mass effect game, Battlefront style that would be awesome imo.

2) Also considering that they already are kind of limited by the scale of the first games (How are you going to top saving the entire galaxy) I'm guessing they're going to do something smaller scale/personal. So maybe a prequel where your given control of a exploratory ship who is tasked with finding new habitable/eezo rich planets. Instead of being part of the Alliance you could be part of a mega-corp which could give the game a darker tone. Also there's still alot of room to explore in the Terminus/Attican traverse while still retaining some of the old settings like the Citadel/Omega. Anyway I'm pretty much just dumping an idea now but, I would love to play a less linear mass effect game with space-sim elements.

No. Nonononono. That is unnatural, be gone.

What I'd like to see is pretty simple: either one more game (or expansion pack) showing what actually happens after the Reapers are defeated, or another truly open RPG. Best possible outcome: Bioware doing all the writing, and open-world exploration (and I mean actual exploration, not the Mako again) by Bethesda if we can drag them away from the Oblivion engine. Give me a half dozen planets with the same level of immersiveness as Skyrim and I'll be very, very happy.

I'd love to see a whole game set on Omega - something along the lines of what Garrus was upto at the start of ME2.

I wouldn't mind some sort of RTS set in the same universe either.

OP - games engines aren't limited to a specific type of game.

So Earth, Thessia, Sur'Kesh, Palaven, and the Citadel (no Tuchanka, we've been there enough.) Each with the size and depth of Skyrim. :|

No offense, but I feel like that's a surefire way to get your game to feel like an ounce of butter spread over an entire loaf of toast.

I simply hope the next game allows you to play as more than one species aside from humans.

hopefully have Bioware do what they did with Dragon Age: Origins and have you be able to pick a species with various different backstories for each of them.

Like being able to play as an Asari and being able to choose whether you want an 'Asari Commando', 'Terminus Merc', or 'C-Sec Officer' origin story, something like that, you know?

Or even get to play as a Krogan and choose between 'Clan Warrior', 'Terminus Merc', or 'Space Pirate' origins?

Or even play as a Batarian with either 'Batarian Soldier', 'Batarian Convict', or 'Batarian Lower-Caste' backstories.

I could go on if you like.

I'm hoping for DA:O style openings.

Also, perhaps the story could be about you being a smuggler trying to raise through the ranks of your criminal organisation.

They should leave the Shepard storyline out of this completely, set it before Shep was even born or something. I would say set it after ME3 but we all know what happened to the ME universe at that point...

Seriously, zero references to the first three games at all pls. ME3 kind of jumped straight overboard on the references in my opinion. Far too many and they were a bit obvious to say the least. It started to seem a bit obnoxious after the 50th one even.

Something more personal and character focused would be nice, think Persona 3 saving the world compared to Persona 4 saving a group of people and a village (it's implied you save the world kind of too but shhhh)

I would like to see more Aria. Why are the most interesting characters the ones that are never expanded upon as much? Don't you tell me she was in an ME novel or something! They are of questionable canon!

Thinking about it, making it so Asari have crazy lifespans would work well for prequels. You could bring back so many older characters no problem.

I approve the DA:O different origins idea. Who is going to go through the human one when you have all the cool aliens to go through first?

However, the human origin is arguably the best in DA:O (in my opinion at least) nice added vengeance, more chances to act like a spoiled rich kid and you can even catch Logain out in Ostagar! I wish there was a call him out on it button :(

I'm kind-of expecting a space RTS style game to come for the Mass Effect universe. The universe has everything needed for such a game to happen already. There could easily be 4 factions, for one. Alliance, Terminus, Geth and Reapers. And each of those also has foot soldiers, land vehicles, water ships, air ships and space ships.

What I'm most hoping for though is another rpg. As long as it doesn't follow the same time line as Shepard. I just love rpg's too much to hope for anything else. ^^;;

I see a problem here...

Dragon Age Origin was had an epic scale with "Save the world" at stake. It was amazing.
Dragon Age 2 had a smaller more personal story. It was shit.

Mass Effect trilogy had an epic scale and "Save the galaxy" at stake. It was... 66.6666666% amazing.
So do you really want another small scale personal story from Bioware?

I actually liked your first idea better about some kind of multyplayer, Battlefield-esque game that's just called Mass Effect (In true EA fashion) I'm not going to play it either way, but this way I wouldn't feel like I was missing out. And at the very least it would be more honest

I would love a prequel, there is sooo many things they could do. Maybe a story that spans over an Asari's lifetime, could do loads of stuff relating to Protheans, the formation of the Council, the different wars...
