Prey: Opening Hour demo available on consoles, week before release.

Hello furry flufflings of honed opposable thumbs, just a little heads-up (assuming you can look up, of course), as the title would suggest, the Prey demo has been made available today for download on consoles. Wondered if anybody's given it a go yet and if there are any opinions on the experience so far.

I've only given a quick look as there is long-term work am trying to finish today, but it feels quite like a mix of bioshock, deus-ex, system shock and dishonoured in space with a very half-life-esque intro sequence and a curious 70's aesthetic that i did not expect. It's around 12gig download size for any interested in trying it out.

Do you know for how long the dl will be available? Once you have it, is that 1 hour yours to keep (In case I don't have time to play this weekend). The original Prey was in my top 30 of Gen 7. I am looking forward to at least trying this. (To bad the other Prey 2 was never released).

It's not a timed demo, i think they just named it that for whatever reason. There are doors locked off that explain they're not demo content. There is no mention of it being temporarily available, so it should be fine. I'll double check in case.

From what little I've seen, i like so far. There seems to an emphasis on tools and abilities with a lot to play around and experiment with. Exploration and world-building/piecing-together feels gratifying. I got an incline that the PC version may have a lot more debugging to cope with, which may explain the absence of a demo there. So would recommend caution on day 1 for that platform (well, the same for any platform). As always, await reviews first.

I think I'll watch a YouTube of it. I really don't want to start any more games until I actually finish at least some of the few I've recently started.

Yeah I'm not gonna play it for consoles. Looks great though.

Tried it. Visually unimpressive. I found it difficult. Might be the demo has a difficulty issue that will be fixed upon release. BUT! BUT!!!

Really gripping, mind blowing opening worthy of a game called Prey. Game play was fun enough till I got killed. Might just be me. I am not good as much as I love gaming. (Did the PS4 version).

This game is definitely on my long term radar though.
