And heres the reason why.

First off its not standard FPS game. its Immersive sim in the vien of System shock. it has RPG elements and Deep and complex level design. something that was missing in last generation.

Arkane is a great studio who knows how to make immersive sim. it has people from looking glass studio. It play like Old school FPS/Immersive sim games. with no regen health, cover mechanic, weapon limit and fully inventory system unlike the early prey 2 which always looks terrible. with cover, regen health, see through walls. I never understood why people were excited for that and dissapointed by this.

It has unique Gameplay mechanics like turning into coffee cup we may have not seen in FPS games before.
there it is. people consider bioshock infinite as system shock successor but the way i see. PREY is true successor. no more non sense heavily scripted mechanics.

the way i see. i think this is what gaming need today. this is modern day System shock. I see Highly anticipated games of 2017 like mass effect or red dead redemption 2 eaten by todays market because of background developer logo.

This is the game of 2017 that need more attention. I think this will be easily best game of 2017. what do you think?

Its not out yet, so I can't rightly make a decision whether or not it's going to be a great game, a terrible game, or a mediocre slough. Trailers and developer/publisher promises mean absolutely jack shit.
Also recall that the original Prey sequel was highly anticipated and the lack of any forward development on it is a kind of kick in the nuts with this game now coming out. That might actually factor in on Prey(2017)'s success simply because some folks are going to be a bit miffed about the devs/pub rebooting the series.
That being said, I'm interested in the title. But anticipation for any promised titles has waned to an extreme degree in the wake of modern AAA failures to live up to hype/anticipation.
Best bet is to be cautiously optimistic and realistically cynical. By which I mean, don't get hyped, just wait for release and read reviews from people you trust have similar tastes.

Looks like Bioshock in spaaaaaace with boring enemies and without the distinctive visuals.

(Yes, System Shock fans, I can hear your screams.)

Meh. I'm keeping half an eye on it but it looks like Steam-sale fodder to me.

Just... Christ, I can't get over how dull those enemies are. Messy shadow shapes in small, medium and large. Who's fucking idea was that? Oh, and there's some robots that look like expensive suitcases.

Possibly, but there are two things about the game which make me a bit reticent with my enthusiasm towards the game:

-It's troubled development over the years spanning multiple developers. There's always the worry of a game with such a history carrying some unwelcome baggage in various forms, whether that be gameplay/story ideas or an overbearing publisher presence. Hard to say, but worth keeping in mind.

-The abandonment of what originally made the Prey name unique. That is to say the complete dismissal of the original games Native American themes and it's weirdly unique spiritual/alien blend. The original game wasn't amazing, but of the things it did that unusual source of inspiration was something I wish had been elaborated on with further use of the name.

With that said it's a super cool premise for a game and Arkane has proven themselves a trustworthy developer in the past, I have hopes it will be an excellent game. I'm just not willing to get my hopes up too high, I still remember getting all excited for the thematically similar Bioshock Infinite and feeling rather let down by that game, which also had a cool premise and a trustworthy developer, but who knows?

Nah, I'm a System Shock fan and I readily agree that BioShock has a far better aesthetic than either of the System games did.

As for Prey, I agree with some of you above that the enemies look really boring. Also a shame they dropped the Native American nature spirits meets Aliens angle from the original game.

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 - 'nuff said.
Both Rockstar and CDPR have enough goodwill banked with me that I can safely say I'd be hyped for new games from them (LA Noire doesn't count as it wasn't in-house, just published by R* and GTAIV PC may have been a crap port but I think they learned from it because GTA V runs great)
So I will agree with you on those two being highly possible GOTY contenders... Assuming Cyberpunk actually does get released next year. I've not seen much aside from the original trailer release so I can't be certain it will be ready, but then again CDPR is very PR savvy in that they don't release preview material until there's something of actual substance to be seen... Jesus fuck, AAA publishers should be taking notes from CDPR on how to publish games and do PR correctly (as well as DLC practices...).

I'll bet you $100 right now, payable in Steam gifts, that Cyberpunk 2077 doesn't come out in 2017.

Not even out yet, quit hyping it up.
Do you not realize who you're talking to?

OT: Looks slick, but I doubt I'll be having it on my radar. Too much backlog etc.

Well, the most immediate thing I noticed was the enemy's having health bars. Which throws up a bit of a red flag. From the rest of it, it doesn't seem a like a shoot'n'loot, so it probably means bullet sponges.

The shooting didn't seem to look or sound particularly great, and having played both Dishonored, Arkane's gunplay finesse is riding a bit below average, headed towards mediocre. Certainly, they may up their game for a game that is more purely an FPS, but I wouldn't jump in on that without some hands-on or at least external assessment.

Probably shouldn't keep hyping it up like you always do, cause it'll just disappoint you like the last time. This is 8 minutes of watched, edited and controlled gameplay. It's probably not gonna be like this by release

They're expecting to release Cyberpunk around 2019, mate.

Also, to Diesel: Bannerlord.
