So I was thinking about game prices the other day, and the value of games in relation to their price (asking price, anyway -- most of mine were purchased in Steam sales). I started browsing through my library and trying to gauge how much I thought the game should've sold for based on how much I liked it/how good it was. For example, I paid the full (pre-order) price for Portal 2, and it was worth every penny -- maybe even more. It's one of my favorite games of all time, so maybe I would've paid a full $60 for it. On the other hand, a game like Modern Warfare 2 (no, I'm not looking to flame) I kind of enjoyed, but I didn't think it was "good" in any meaningful way. In that case, maybe worth only $15 or so -- especially since the campaign was short and I never got into the multiplayer. (I realize the danger inherent in that reasoning, since I've got almost a thousand hours on Left 4 Dead 2 but absolutely wouldn't be interested in paying a price equivalent to that amount of game time.)

ANYway, how bout the rest of you? What are some games you thought were worth (or not worth) the asking price, and how much would you have been willing to pay for them?
