When I try to access Facebook, my laptop freezes and I hear a beep and some time later it resumes operation. Do you think I may have a virus ot Trojan or any other form of malware?

If the beeps you describe are how I'm imagining them then that usually indicates a hardware problem. I suggest you start by downloading an image of Memtest [http://www.memtest.org/download/4.20/memtest86+-4.20.iso.zip] and using it to test your RAM and CPU.
