I don't know if you've noticed, but the video player that Escapist Videos play in has been updated, and I have some major concerns:
1.) That damn "Share" option in the top right:
This absolutely obnoxiously large icon has been added right over a portion of the screen, you know how when you discover a dead pixel you can't stop staring at it? It's like that times 1000. I realize the Escapist needs the free advertising of social networks, but it's driving me crazy, I used to share a lot of videos, but as long as that icon is in my face I'm not sharing any in protest, I already pay this site through publisher's club, I don't need that icon constantly demanding I advertise for you.
2.) It's slow as hell:
This might not be the video player, it might be the servers, but right now I'm on a college network at a tech school, we get 12mb/s UPLOAD and over 20mb/s download (not kidding, it's absolutely insane, I didn't think speeds that high were possible, but somehow they managed it, speed tests confirm it) and I have had to buffer the new ENN video for about 1 minute, that's outrageous. And I know the problem isn't on my end because a Youtube video I just loaded as a test (8 minutes long, 720p) loaded in its entirety in 12 seconds.
3.) Fullscreen does not support 1920 x 1080 resolution
Ok fine, this is something that happened with the old video player too, but while I'm here I might as well mention it.
I'm not one of those people who bitches every time something changes just because I'm not used to it, and number 2 could just be the Escapist servers having a momentary slowdown, but that "share" icon is driving me nuts, and it really needs to be removed.
