prototype 1

ok so i preorder prototype 2 and thought hey i enjoyed prototype 1 the past 2-4 times i played it. maybe ill give it another go, refreash the story in my head etc.

anyway i open the game and its like a tiny image taking up like 30% of the screen. i figured it must default to 640 resultion. i was correct but i cant change the video setting to anything higher than like 1200 by 720 or something.

i thought thats wierd a game from 2009 with such small resolutions but apparently the game limits the resolution based on vram or something and my new computer apparently has less vram than my 5 year old computer?

whats up with that?

so any idea how i can make the game display at 1920 by 1080 res?

i have a console. so not problem solved since i prefer my pc plus i dont own prototype on a console

then just buy prototype 2 if you really wanna know what happens at the end a nuke hits but alex stops it also check jewtube if u want

i preorder prototype 2
i enjoyed prototype 1 the past 2-4 times i played it
i prefer my pc

what can we conclude from this?

that i prefer playing on my pc and want to play prototype 1 AGAIN. so suggesting i play on a console doesnt help. suggesting i get prototype 2 doesnt help and suggesting i youtube the ending doesnt help since i am TRYING TO PLAY PROTOTYPE 1 AGAIN

screw it i think the game is to incompatible with other things. liek it cant even detect my left mouse button. i think ill stick to games from this side of 2010

i used google and none of the solutions i found worked. like editing a file with hex editors or opening in windowed mode.

thats why i came here to a site that i normally get helpful and friendly advice from but instead i get you, that i can only assume is trying to get a rise out of me cause no one can be so stupid and unhelpful unless they are doing it on purpose.

yeah. thats what i would have thought too but i think i have too much vram that it blows prototypes mind.

i read somewhere that if you have more than 1.5gb of vram or some other number like that it just cant handle it and it assumes you have really low and limits your resolutions.

so any modern video card is too good for it.

apparently

dxdiag says i have 2746MB and im pretty sure the box says 3gb

yeah i update the drivers like the other day and its a Radeon HD 7950 or 7970 or something liek that

Of course they can.

Also, don't trust dxdiag, mine says I've got 3039MB which is obviously false as I have 1280MB (GF570).

I know this didn't help at all, just wanted to point out that a GPU with less than 512MB VRAM is more than capable of displaying a higher resolution than 1280x720. And that dxdiag isn't trustworthy.
