PS Vita - buy used/refurbed or wait until E3 and pray for price drop?

So I can get a really good condition PS Vita for $160, and I'd like to get it for pretty much one game: Persona 4 Golden (or anything else that Atlus releases for the system this year. Only problem is, it doesn't come with a memory card like all the non-special edition combo packages. So that's the Vita + game + memory card?

The question isn't getting one at all, its a question of when.

So is this a reasonable deal or should I wait until after E3 and see if Sony un-derps themselves?

I'm concerned that my co-worker will sell his PS vita to someone else and I'll miss out on getting one cheaper than gamestop (but not by much) and Sony shoving their middle fingers at us before/during/after E3 and going "price cut = no significant difference, suckers!" Or on the other hand, Sony has Samuel L Jackson drop their pants and nut kick them until they substantially drops prices for system and/or memory to the point where I could just wait and pay about the same total price for a new system + game + more memory for same cost instead.

I don't know, I'm not a Sony fan, but I am an Atlus fan, and this is one more system that I can play their games on. I sold my Xbox 360, will never own a PS3, and I don't have a TV or monitor. I did get a pre-owned PSP with Persona 1-3 on it and am fairly happy with it, but I'm interested in the PS Vita to future proof my Atlus collection. I did the same thing with the 3DS XL for the Nintendo Atlus games.

Thoughts and advice welcome.

are you done with the Atlus games for DS and PSP?

If not then play those until E3, if yes replay those until the 20th and then make your decision

I'm in the same boat as you. I want a Vita basically to play Persona 4, but I don't want to pay over $200 for it. My thoughts are this: Even if there is a price drop, my guess is that it'll probably only be $50 off for each version of the Vita. So you're looking at $200 for the Wifi model.

It all comes down to this: Do you wait for a potential price drop and get a brand new Vita for $200, or take the plunge now and get a used Vita for $160 plus whatever memory cards cost (which I hear is a lot). I'm going to hold off and see what happens. I have plenty of games I can play waiting for a price drop, but I can't speak for you.

Thank you all for your advice. It'll be hard, but I'll try to hold off another month or so. I picked up Persona 4 Golden just in case the game suddenly becomes scarce (classic Atlus style or something), and played a bit of it on my friend's Vita. Lovely game and the voice acting is so bad its funny. I didn't have enough time to get to the point where combat started but all the running around before hand was pretty consistent with the first few days of Persona 3 Portable. I will be getting a Vita because it has a nice heft to it while being comfortable to hold. I wish Sony wasn't a total DERP and would get some freaking games for the system instead of ports of good games like P4. But I'll take what I can get for now. I'll see how I feel about things in a month.

One last thing I noticed as I played with the Vita this morning is THE COMPLETE LACK OF SOCIAL INTERACTION BUILT INTO GAMES AND THE SYSTEM! What the hell Sony? I carry around my 3ds everywhere I go in the hopes that I'll pass someone with Streetpass enabled and get a new character in FindMii, a recruitable character in Fire Emblem, and at the end of the month some team play and sharing with Etrian Odyssey 4. Come one Sony give me a reason to put it in my pocket and take it everywhere. Brad never uses his Vita and he keeps talking about how "someday I'll buy some games for it." I'm buying 3ds games just because I have the dang thing with me at all times every day. This isn't rocket science.
