PS3 Advice

Hey everyone, so I'm trying to decide if it's worth buying a PlayStation 3. I currently have an Xbox 360 but my favorite system is still the PS2.

Do you guys know if the PS3 is backwards compatible? I know it had some problems with that in the past, I wasn't sure if it was fixed. Are the exclusive titles worth the money?

Also, what are some good games? What do you guys like to play?

I would say if you have the money, go for it. I've had my PS3 for 5 years now and I've loved every minute of it. The new one's are NOT backwards compatible unfortunately just like the new 360's.But other than that, not having to pay for online play is really nice, and I would say the exclusives are all excellent. Not to mention if you don't already have a bluray player, you'll be getting one which is great. I also like the main menu setup better on the ps3 (I have a 360 as well) and being able to charge your controller via the system instead of changing the battery is nice. Anyways thats my long rant about it. They're both great systems, it's all about preference. If you're into FPS and you want a great teamwork based game, MAG is a favorite exclusive of mine (tons of fun!) The uncharted series is also great buy.

I will definitely check out MAG, I've heard it's got a ridiculous multiplayer which sounds pretty awesome!

You can get an older refurbished model if you want the backwards compatibility. I have an older model (the 80 GB) and it hasn't given me any issues. They have started releasing ps2 classics on the PSN, so you can play the games even on the newer models, If your into buying your games digital.

Is it worth the money, I think so, I own both an xbox and a PS3, and the PS3 hasn't disappointed.

Also, Sony has some good exclusives, I'm sure you already know about Uncharted, and somebody else will probably mention it.

Get the exclusives. You want them. They are delicious.

These exclusives are some of the best money I have ever spent on a console. Ever. Uncharted, inFAMOUS and Little Big Planet are certainly on the must-haves list.

Other great exlusives like 3D DOT GAME HERO, Demon's Souls, Resistance, Ratchet and Clank: Future, Heavy Rain and Killzone have your variety mix.

Also, check out the remastered editions of the PS2 classics. Easy trophies for great game.

There are also a couple of great downloadable games like PAYDAY, Dead Nation, Sam & Max, Super Stardust HD and Fat Princess.

well the new "slim" models which I imagine are generally the only ones availible new are not backwards compatible (or really that "slim")

Id say its wotrth it if you are really set on the Idea, however you do already own a 360..so I guess its weather or not the exclusives are worth it (infamous is awsome)

I didnt have a console before nad PS3 was definetly a better choice..
