PS3 Backwards Compatability Region Free?

I'm considering buying a few PS2 games off eBay (Mainly the Sly Cooper Games) and I was wondering if they're NTSC will they work on my PAL PS3?

Firstly, no. The PS3 region will limit PS2 and PSX games, only PS3 games are region free.

Secondly, not every PS3 will run PS2 games. Infact only the first generation 60-gigs have native PS2 backward compatability.
