hey all, im going to try to make this quick. ok, i come home from school, turn on my PS3, put in a game, and nothing happens. I try another game, same thing, restart consol, again, same thing. After a while I determine that the disk is turning, so i know my disk drive isnt broken. I also try to play a CD and a DVD, both work. I put ina game, again, nothing. I then get bored play a demo, durring the demo i hit the PS button and notice that the game disk is showing up on the XMB, i click it, play it, no problems. I turn the system off, restart, no disk again. I start a demo, hit PS button, go to the game, then quit the demo and go back to XMB on the home screen, and the game is there. but if I take the game out and put it back in, its gone. So i can still play games, its just annoying, so if anyone else has had this problem, or knows a solution, please help. thanks

Hit it with a hammer!!

To be serious now. That remenbers me the PS2 driver problems. I'm not sure as I don't have a PS3 but the problem seems to be the same.

The solution back then was to send it to sony and they would fix it/get you a new one.

At least you can still play games on yours, even if it requires a little effort on your part. My PS3 won't read any disks, and going to the XMB doesn't help either. My advice: deal with it.

I'm sorry, I don't know. You might get lucky here, but you're more likely to get a solution on a PS3 forum. Start by looking on the Playstation Support page for your region - here's the Australian one just for example, but I'm sure they all have the same data:
http://au.playstation.com/help-support/ps3/

If there's nothing there that matches your issue, email their support staff and try a PS3 forum. You're almost guaranteed to at least find other people with the same issue.
