PS3 Parental Controls Problem

Right, so I recently obtained a 160 GB PS3. It's great, I love it, I have MAG, Fallout New Vegas, MW2, can't go wrong. The problem is that when I'm playing that bat shit crazy hell storm known as MAG, I can't communicate with any one because apparently my parental controls prevent me from doing so, even though they are all set to off. I'm 16. Understandably, this makes me a little pissed off because the same is probably true for MW2, and Warhawk, which I recently bought.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Would reset it back to factory settings helped? Mind you, you might need to backup all your save data etc.
