Ever since trophies have been introduced to the PS3 community, I for one have enjoyed all of my games on a higher level. Usually i complete a game and will never pick it back up unless it has awesome multiplayer (old school timesplitters ftw) but with trophies, you can have several amazing and challenging run throughs of the same game multiple times! sometimes I'm amazed at even myself seeing what level I will sink to to get as many trophies as I can lay may cyber hands on (commonly known as trophy whoring) i don't know what it is about trophies, i have a 360 as well, but i just don't care about the achievements and i have no idea why!
but with this huge love of trophies comes the huge annoyance (personally) of ambiguous and aloof trophy patch update info. eg.
disgaea 3, i live in england so we havn't got our patch yet, even though america had theirs long ago (mid july i believe, this year) and japan even before that.
of course being a self proclaimed trophy whore, i've already checked the trophies online for the american version to make sure i could still get them all if i started playing before the patch (luckily I can, but if that had not been the case i would've left it on the shelves until trophy time)
another game to annoy me in this fashion, MGS4. I mean Kojima has always been the biggest metaphorical gaming cocktease in the universe, but seriously hinting trophies!
I'm not quoting, but he said something along the lines of "we have heard the fans and have been thinking about trophies, when we know, you will know"
balls! if Kojima told us info wen he knew it we wouldn't of given a crap about his stupid MGS rising teaser page.
but what do you think on the whole patch tease, in the case of, you know it's coming (Disgaea 3) but you don't know when (the company/developers haven't issued a release date for the patch)
do you enjoy this feeling, the building of excitement, running through how to accomplish every trophy before it comes so you can obtain it instantaneously, or like me are you bored annoyed and just want the freakin trophies!!
