So ATM I have both a PS3 and 360, only thing is I only really use my PS3 for a blu ray player and almost never play games on it. I'm seriously considering selling it and buying a dedicated blu ray player, so I was just wondering what exclusives are coming out for the PS3 in 2012 that might make me change my mind. Also how do they stack up against the exclusives that are coming out for the 360?

Xbox 360 still has exclusives?

EDIT: Sorry, but there hasn't been much over the last year unless you count Kinect, so it seems weird to see that be a thing.

Well I know Halo 4's coming out next year but I don't know what else there is.

If you want to sell it then sell it but like Zach said Xbox hasn't had many exclusives lately. But if you prefer playing multiplatform on your 360 then go for it.

The only 360 exclusive I bought probably won't be exclusive in a couple of months/years (It'll be on PC). Not really interested in any other 360 exclusives, and I know nothing about PS3 exclusives though. I hear Uncharted 3 is pretty good, but that's about it.

For me its the opposite. I have to buy multiplatform games for my Xbox to have a chance to turn it on. I'd say hold on to it until you get a list of releases.

360 doesn't really have exclusives anymore, save for Gears of War and Halo. One of the last major exclusives it had was the Mass Effect franchise, and it got ported to PS3. As for PS3 exclusives, they're better by default now that they're the only ones that actually exist anymore, and they're pretty good anyways. Check out the InFamous games, Uncharted, Demon's Souls, and the God of War trilogy. Off the top of my head, anyways.

Yeah I was wondering about the 2012 ones mostly. The PS3 exclusives I can think of off the top of my head are Last Guardian and Sly 4. As Shadowstar38 says though, I might just hold onto it for now and see what happens.

The real question is will selling a used PS3 and using that money to buy a dedicated bluray player end in profit? If it won't then doing so is pretty stupid.

I can get about £120 for the PS3 and get a decent blu ray player for around £70. I wouldn't do it if there was no money in it.

I'd suggest holding on to it. You can still use it for movies, but when an exclusive (because the PS3 DOES have exclusives... and they're quite good from what I hear) that catches your eye comes along, you'll be able to get it.

First of all, you'd likely lose money with your plan, blu ray players are more expensive than what you could sell your ps3 for, besides what's the point, it's not like blue ray players take up any less space.
But to answer your question just check these lists

You might as well keep the console. It already plays Blu-ray and can play games and such (I don't one one - have a 360). Wouldn't you be going backwards if you bought a normal Blu-ray player?

Xbox has Halo 4 next year and PS3 has The Last Guardian, Twisted Metal, and Dust 514. God of War 4 is rumored for next year as well.

I find it odd you use the xbox for multi-plat and not the PS3?

I'm in a similar boat of having both and tend to use the PS3 in favour of the Xbox - primarily because the Xbox is one noisy ass ***** with it's fans and what not whereas the PS3 doesn't even give a peep.

I've never noticed any significant difference between the machines either - I borrowed GTA4 off a friend so I could compare against my PS3 copy and it's all much of a muchness.

So for me, lacking of annoying background noise wins out I was just curious as to why you go the other way? Is it online play? I don't go online much, more of a single mode player.

For all of you completely forgetting the highly rated and great games that couldn't be found on any other console this year for the 360:
Gears of War 3
Forza 4
Dance Central 2 (yes it's Kinect, but it's a great game and isn't meant to be hardcore)
Mortal Kombat
Halo CE: Anniversary (relaunch, but still awesome)
Bastion (console exclusive)
Radiant Silvergun
-then take all those big games like Battlefield 3 and MW3 and see how much more popular they are on the 360 than any other console AND the fact that MS gets first DLC dibs. Plus the 360 sold 1.7 mil units in the US in November (record-setting 1 mil units sold the week of Thanksgiving). Shows you how many people are flocking to the 360 as it does multimedia & gaming so well. And don't diss Kinect. It doesn't have a ton of good games, but it has several and the technology alone is #1.

Why keep a PS3? Well if you haven't played Uncharted, Infamous, etc and never really intended to, then there's absolutely no reason to keep your PS3 as those are most of the games worth playing on that console. This next year doesn't lend incentive to continue PS3 fanboy-tendencies, whereas 2012 has some big and promising titles coming for the 360 only (Halo, Ryse, Witcher 2, etc). Again, if you aren't big on the couple of strong titles that launched this year only on the PS3, then ditch your PS3.
