PS3 will not read discs??? Anyone have any advice?

So I was playing a game when my PS3 froze, it took a very long time powering off. When I turned it back on, my PS3 wouldn't read anything. Games and DVD's don't show up at all. Does anyone have any advice?

A few of my friends have had this (or similar things) happen to them. They just had to send it in to Sony. Hasn't happened to mine, but I've learned that the disc drives are less than reliable.

I might do that but its $150, and 4-6wks of no gaming! haha

It's either that or you might have to buy another PS3. Maybe just leave it for a while, who knows it might start working again.

I hope so, I was hoping it was just the dust so I opened it up and cleaned it, but I guess we'll see what happens
