You know the PS4 store doesn't have 'platformer' as a genre?!

I'm looking for a simple pick-up-and-play 2D PS4 platformer for when I just want to fire something up and play for half-hour or so.

I'm already looking at the Oddworld series.

I'm thinking things like Flashback, Shadow of the Beast, Robocod (but newer, though I'd love an updated version of those too).

Recommendations gratefully received, unless they're really bad.

I picked up the Metal Slug Anthology for about 4 quid, that's good for a quick blast every now and then.

Dust : An Elysian Tale, Steamworld Dig (either one, though 2's more polished). Salt and Sanctuary though that's a bit more akin to Castlevania then a pure platformer).

Spelunky's also a pretty popular one, though I never got into it myself.

Littlebigplanet as well, though 3 was kind of off. The character switching was a bit of an annoying mechanic in the main game, though the community levels might be better.

Oddworld gets real difficult mind. Still great, but it doesn't hold back. Am looking forward to Soulstorm.

Ratchet and Clank is worth a look. A bit more shooty, but still has the platform feelies.

... Rain World?

I count the Trials series as platformers. So Trials Fusion, it's pretty cheap now I think.

Shadow Complex is on there, but you may have already tried that.

Sundered maybe I'm not quite sure I should recommend. It's kind of a **** and not it the way that that's endearing. But it has the platforms.

Inside?

(Dust Elysian tails seconded)

They remade an old classic called Wonderboy: The Dragon's Trap, which is available for PS4 - LOVE that game! It's a total hidden gem. You should totally get that one.

Also, if you like Metroidvania stuff try out the Shantae series. I really enjoyed those. The Pirate's Curse is the best one, in my opinion. It's pretty simple.

Then there's obviously Super Meat Boy (though I imagine you've played that).

Thanks everyone, I'll check those out. Well, not all of them, I'm not made of money. But definitely some of them.
