Just thought I'd post this for anyone (myself included) that was on the fence about Titanfall. It seems the situation might be more dire than we were even able to interpret from the various responses by EA execs and Respawn themselves. However, a deep discount this close to release could give the game the boost it needs. The price on Amazon is for the physical copy (it's an Origin code in a box) or on Origin you can get the same price using the code TITAN20 and download straightaway.

Not trying to shill or sell anything. I for one wasn't planning on buying Titanfall anytime soon thanks to so many other good games coming out in such close proximity, but 50% off on a brand new game was all the push I needed. Played through some of the single player and it's pretty inventive with its settings and there's actually jokes.

Ohhh, that sounds interes...

Oh. It's only 33% off in Australia, which comes to $60. Because fuck Australia apparently.

Keep failing Titanfall 2. At this rate it might be free by Christmas.

Last I checked Titanfall 2 on PC had about...10,000 players? I don't know what the player count is based on. I don't know if that was just in my region or globally.

It's a shame though, because for all its flaws, Titanfall 2 is genuinely a fun multiplayer game. I do sincerely hope this gets quite a few more willing players on board, as the game deserves it. Especially with the promise of free content and no season pass.

The player count is really low at the moment. I'd lay sole blame on EA's genius decision to release it a week after Battlefield, but the game is generally kind of fumbled. Lots of unnecessary, inexplicable changes that work to the game's detriment.

Thanks for including this. I should have specified it was PC only on Amazon.

The theory goes that EA wants Titanfall 2 to fail because the developers want to distribute free maps and keep microtransactions out, so it might have been released so close to Battlefield 1 on purpose.

To be quite honest that kinda falls into the tinfoil hat "lizards are running the white house!" kind of theories if you ask me. EA loves money especially, and they know well enough that sabotaging their own product will just be very costly for them. And since when did they care what gamers think about DLC and season passes anyway? All that matters is if they're making money or not, and they certainly are earning big bucks from such practices. And besides if they wanted to add DLC and microtransactions into Titanfall 2 then they can very easily do it, it happened to Garden Warfare 2.

I bet its ultimately just that whatever relevant group at EA really didn't think things through properly when they decided on a release date and they're just trying to play it cool now to avoid further embarrassment on their stupid mistake because what can they do now anyway? Remove the game from all stores and disable it for current users only to release it again next year? The game is out, its done.
