Edit:
I just want to thank everyone for taking part in this thread, in the space of a day it's gone from 1 or 2 pages to 10 - It's rather amazing, keep posting guys!

My question is simple Escapists,
Do you know how to fight?

Over the years i've attended a number of martial arts, although never for too long at a time, but i wanted to know what all your experience with martial arts was.

We all know that games get us angry at some times, so when you're venting it, what style do you use?

Tell us all what styles you've practiced and how long you did them for? If your style is not well-known, give us a brief description of what it is all about.

For example:
I used to do Judo (Men cuddling in white pyjamas) for a year and a bit
and have been doing Muay Thai (Thai Kick Boxing) for a few months and am enjoying it greatly (After watching Ong Bak and The Warrior King/The Protector i had to get into it)

So get your sparring gloves off for a minute and let us know how you guys fight!

Yes I know how to fight but no specific style. Was taught by my father, and I suppose I would consider it a mix of street fighting and boxing.

Still, I took Taekwondo for a few months when I was younger, but didn't retain much of it.

Yes. I'm a second degree blackbelt in Taekwondo, but that's not my point. I think to disable. The sooner the fight is over, the less likely a serious injury will occur.

Use the environment.

I've done judo for about six years a long time ago. I still reap the benefits from it, not in combat but more in balance issues and stuff.

I don't really know, haven't been in a real fight yet.

I imagine myself tenacious and dirty, though.

Yes, would i fight anyone? Probably not, i dont want to find out how seriously i could injure someone.
I have personally never been in a full-frontal brawl in the street - My only experience of an improvised fight being in a controlled area (Being supervised during sparring etc.)

I would never consider instigating the fight myself but i try and train in the event of

I don't know any martial arts, but I can just launch at a guy, with my fists flailing wildly.

I've been doing shotokan karate for about a year (7th kyu), and did judo for about four months (and mostly sucked at it).

So, yeah, I can fight, just not very well yet. My primary option is still evasion, and I rely on being 6 feet tall, 250 lbs to make myself an undesirable target.

I've been in fights at school and won. I also took Judo for about a year, but it was useless.

Yes, I know Taekwondo, Judo, and various forms of Kung Fu. However I heavily dislike fighting and will only use it if necessary.

I fight like a bastard. Mostly just do what I need to do to get the job done. I've been in about 8 fights, and I've never lost. I've actually never really been too hurt either.

I've knocked out a number of people's teeth, I've broken a person's ribs, and one person's jaw with a straight-arm to the face. All of this was in self-defence, of course, though I honestly don't know why people would pick a fight with a 6'2" 250 lb person. Drunk people lose all inhibitions.

My "technique" mostly boils down to grappling and strong punches. It also pays to fight smart.

I was in Taekwondo for 8 years, but I haven't gone in about 3 years. So I guess I can fight.

Taekwondo (Tai-Kwon-Do) for two years, karate for one, boxing, Kung-fu (crane and tiger), and a personal style I call pwnage, which involves quickly dodgeing, ducking, and retaliating by hitting people's weak spots (namely, the scrotum and neck).

EDIT: In response to your other question, I do light Parkour and work on a farm. Hell hath no fury like a mother turkey.

Another question i put to you:

What activities outside of your martial arts training do you use to condition you?

For instance i have done parkour for roughly 4 years to improve my strength, stamina and not to mention flexibility.

It can be anything you do from jogging in the morning to hardcore weightlifting after work.
