So Iga recently casted doubt that the Wii U version of Bloodstained would be a thing. As someone who chose the Wii U version of Bloodstained when he backed the game, this sounds upsetting to me.

If it ends up not being a thing, how do you doods think it'll be handled? Will it be transferred to being an NX port?, will those of us who backed for the Wii U version get the ability to change it to another system? (PC in my case), will he give us refunds?, what do you doods think?

Can you show where he casted doubt? I dont think any of us are going to be as informed as the people actually making it.

"Yeah, it's a very complicated problem," Iga said. "The reality is this: As timelines move on, certain pieces of hardware become irrelevant. Sometimes new pieces of hardware come out that make you think about what is the right strategy. And as a creator, usually you want to make stuff for the new hardware. That's the reality."

"However, this was a game that was backed by people, and we made promises to listen to them. They're the people that gave us life so to speak. Any sort of change that we do or are considering that goes outside the scope of the promises we've made must be done with lots of explanation, must be done with lots of care, and must be done with lots of back and forth with them to see what options we have. We must listen to them at the end of the day, and we have made promises."

"Unfortunately, some of those don't make as much sense anymore as they did before, and that's also reality. So you're in a very difficult position, and at the end of the day, if you're going to go in one certain direction, you want to make sure that you have support from them," he explained.

"But so far we've, I think, been incredibly transparent through all the things that have happened with our backers, and they have been very supportive. So I'm hoping that if there is going to be a difficult decision some day, and we don't know, that we're able to have that conversation. If they say they don't get it, well that's where we're at. And if they say they do get it, well then, we'll be able to do things that are maybe more interesting. We'll see."

Then that plus what I looked at on my own, suggests Wii U backers, if they cant get the game on the Wii U will be re-embersed(sp?) somehow. Cant say how though. I could give more personal insight, but that requires knowing what the hell the NX is, but thats Nintendo's fault.

Personally I think Kickstarters that promise multiplatform releases are a riskier gamble than those that focus in one platform first, and later release in the others. Release on Wii U or in NX? I'd wish they release it in Wii U first (as promised), and later port it to NX.

Doesn't the NX have a backwards compatibility?
Nintendo hasn't released any info on it as of yet, so it's unknown at this point. Possibly not if the rumors that it's cartridge-based are true. As well as assuming the NX isn't integrated into the Wii U & 3DS's eShops, which would give it the type of Backwards Compatibility that the PS Vita had for the PSP (i.e., digital purchases only).

The reason NX would be good is because UE4 supports it out of the gate.
Gotta wonder how it'd even be able to run UE4 games if it really ends up being a handheld & console hybrid. Even the most powerful handhelds to date, the Vita and New 3DS, were merely around PS2 or Xbox level (if not a little higher). This is especially so when you put into account Nintendo's usual habit of making relatively-affordable consoles, as well as architecture that's arcane to most outside of themselves.

On top of that, as an aside, unlike some, I wouldn't count the NX version of Sonic 2017 as a sign of how powerful it is. Unleashed had a Wii port, and Generations and Lost World had 3DS ports, both scaled down enough to work on the less powerful systems.

Vita wasn't PS2 level. It's graphics were as close to PS3 as it gets. Some even argue that the cost of developing PS Vita games was too high for portable game budget, and that's why it has so few games (studios don't want to risk so much with a console that doesn't sell enough games).

Either way, if that trend follows, then the NX might be only almost 8th gen (as opposed to UE4 being designed for 8th gen consoles as far as bare minimum specs go, right?).
