Question about the Halo 4 trailer

I was all ready to be dissapointed in the trailer because there's no way this can't feel like milking. But then they have a totally badass scene that culminates in a reveal that unless I'm much mistaken is something out of the halo book ghosts of onyx. So actually my question is two fold:
a) is that the shield?
b)do you think it will be good?
Personally I can't help but feel that if they're pulling set pieces out of the books, which only fans of the story/universe would read, maybe this campaign will finally contain a story to make up for the last two that were average at best. Although space fighters were rad, I'll take more of that any day. Oh and jet packs.

Ghosts of Onyx? Was that the one about the machine planet? I guess it could be, but was the location of thatp lanet confirmed to be so far out of range that it could fit with how Halo 3 ended?

Onyx is a rumor that is floating around, but I'm thinking it will be the main setting in Halo 4 because how else are you going to make allies? Forerunners are all dead, even when the spartans entered the shield world on Onyx, there was no one there to greet them and give them warm milk and cookies. We'll just have to wait and see.

Plus I wouldn't rely on the trailer too much, Halo 3's E3 trailer was really cool and the graphics were great, but when the actual game came around, I thought it looked more like a comic book.
