I'm doing the events in the Pokemon Sun and Moon demo that require you to wait a certain number of real time days (like, for example, a Pikachu's birthday I need to celebrate in a week). Can I close the demo, go to another game, and come back later to complete it?, or does the demo have to be running while my 3DS is in sleep mode to calculate the days for the events?

You can close it. The DS tracks date, and I'm 90% sure the game just checks the date on your DS when it starts up to run those things, so you're fine. I also closed mine and was still able to meet some lady's Marchamp 5 days later, so, yeah. Feel free to close.

So I can play Monster Hunter in-between events huh?, sweet.

Would be pretty awful to make you actually play it for days on end.

I was curious about that too and took the chance of closing the game, since there's no manual save.

The demo saves whenever you actually accomplish something, so if you got an item, you're safe to quit the game. There's a girl near the pack of slow pokes, who takes you to a spot to ride your mount and talking to the guy at the top triggers a save, if you want to make doubly sure.

Also, there's a dude in the pokecenter who has an event for today (the 24th).

Which dude?, I talked to everyone inside, and nothing. You talking about the dude mentioned by the dude right in front of the center?
