Hey all, I've recently made the decision to update my computer's graphics card instead of purchasing the next generation systems. Aside from adding 8gb of RAM to my computer, I know nothing about upgrading so I'm hoping that someone here can answer a few questions that I have.

First off, this is the brand of computer that I have. Aside from the 8gb of RAM that I added, everything is stock:

This is the graphics card that I want to install:

As the computer only produces 300W of power, I will have to update my power supply and I've chosen this model:

I'm kind of in the dark about this entire process, so I really just want to make sure that everything is compatible. Is this a graphics card/power supply that you guys would want in your computer? Will it run the newest games? Are there any better deals for me out there?

I'd appreciate any help with solving this problem.

Yeah you need to upgrade your power supply, a 550w-600w will do the trick. Your CPU and that graphics card will get you a solid 40-60fps on max settings at 1960x1080 on everything apart from Crysis 3.

First off...your computer PRODUCES power? Didn't know it was a power plant as well...

Second, make sure you take proper measurements of the card. Make sure that installing it leaves some room for cable management. For example, I have an Antec DF-85 case (google it) which is a full tower, and with two cards in SLI and four hard drives, putting in all the SATA connectors and power cables was a b*tch.

The 760 requires a minimum of 30Amps in the 12v rail so it's compatible with that PSU, however Rosewill doesn't produce quality stuff, this one is 80 bronze rated so it won't explode but I'd get a Corsair or Seasonic instead.

Rosewill is not known for high quality power supplies. A good power supply can get pricey, but it is a very worthwhile investment, especially for a part providing power to your entire system. You want it to be clean, and efficient. As AWAR said, go with Corsair or Seasonic. A good 80+ silver or gold model can set you back over 100 USD, but if you can make the budget, i highly recommend doing so.

Something like this would serve your needs nicely:

This also has the benefit of being modular, making cable management much easier.

One more thing. I am not familia with that model of Gateway, but some OEM cases have non standard mounting screws for their power supplies. So regular off the shelf power supplies may not fit, be sure to check this first.
